MARY ANN WALKER BACON

November 24, 1915 - May 10, 2001
Mary Ann Walker was the third daughter and youngest child of Henry Andrew and Mary Adelaide Hunt Walker. I was told that Mary was named Anna Mary and that her big sisters Amy and Lois changed her name to Mary Ann. Mary Ann married Bruce Hunt Bacon September 13, 1939 when I was one year old. They were married by I.G. Crowder at the Douglass Shed Methodist Church sitting in the car. This was told to me by Aunt Ann. They never told their parents they were married and each continued to live at home for quite some time. Today they leave two descendants Mary Ann and Bruce Hunt Bacon, II and two grandsons and two great granddaughters. Bruce Hunt Bacon Sr was born September 7, 1906 and died February 18, 1969. Bruce and Ann were both great grandchildren of James R. and Magdalena Niemon Bacon

Robert Bovell Bacon is buried at Sulphur Springs. Robert son of Charles Bacon who was the youngest son of James R. Bacon who inherited the home farm which is now a century old farm today. James R Bacon came from Maidencreek Twp., Berks Co., PA to NC/TN in the mid 1790's
