John Walker was born 1796 the year Tennessee became separated from North Carolina. He was the oldest son of William and Susannah Graham Walker. He married Lucretia Martin November 24, 1824. John died 1863 and Lucretia "Treasy or Creasy" as she was called died February 12, 1863. They are supposedly buried in Fairview Cemetery? John and Lucretia became Charter members of the Limestone Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs on June 30, 1842. How and when did John acquire his land back of Sulphur Springs School?

7. John Walker born 1845 and never married as far as we know. The story is told that John got drunk and rode a horse through a house and was shot at. This happened sometime during the Civil War. It has been said that a dispute arose over the land owned by John, which was quite a lot, from where Nathan Hale lived on the hill above Sulphur Springs school to Sylvester land to Stuart's Hill. John was age 15 and living at home with his parents in the 1860 census. They were living next door to son William and Matilda also Benjamin Sherfey and wife Barbara and daughter Susannah & John Wilcox. I need to look at land deeds and see just where the land of John and family was located? It must be on the top of the hill where Bayless and Walkers live today and extending south and east toward old highway 81?

A great big THANKS! to them for helping us see our kin as real live people
