HENRY MARTIN WALKER, II

October 8, 1908 - January 7, 1985

Henry Martin Walker, II was the fourth son born to Henry Andrew and Mary Adelaide Hunt Walker. He married Flora Caroline Deakins August 29, 1934. Flora Caroline was born February 12, 1909 and died May 20, 1985 ; burial in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery

    • Article = The marriage of Miss Flora Caroline Deakins of Locust Mount and Mr. Henry Martin Walker of Detroit, Mich., was solemnized Wednesday Evening at 6:00 o'clock. Dr. Wm. F. Blackard officiating, using an impressive ring ceremony. The bride was lovely in a brown crepe ensemble with harmonizing accessories. Her flowers were roses and gardenias. Mrs. Walker is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Deakins of Locust Mount. She received her education at Sulphur Springs High School, State Teachers College and Johnson City Business College.
    Mr. Walker is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Walker of Sulphur Springs. He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School and Tennessee Wesleyan college, Athens, Tenn., and for the past five years has been connected with the Ford Motor Company of Detroit, Michigan. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Walker left for Detroit where they will make their home.
    They lived in Detroit for several years until Flora became pregnant with Carolyn. Flora thought HM wanted to move back to TN and HM thought Flora did, but they both wanted to stay in Detroit.     1930 census finds H.M. Walker living with his brother and sister-in-law Bob and Flo Belle Walker in Akron, Ohio working as a .... Guess he decided to try Detroit and Ford Motor Company
