Martin JP in Washington Co., TN ; RB Martin was a brother to Elizabeth Martin Jones and Uncle of Henry Martin Jones. Henry filed a claim with Southern Claims Commission from 1871 to 1873. 3,929 Tennesseans claimed their property had been taken by United States military personnel for use in the Civil War...His claim was Allowed

Jane "Jennie" Walker born abt. 1789 in Montgomery Co., VA and Joseph Hartman, Jr born 1781 in Virginia married and lived their entire life in Washington Co., Tennessee
In the late 1790's Hartmans came with several other pioneer families from Pennsylvania through Virginia and settled near what is now Sulphur Springs. Jonathan Hartman born in the old Homestead in 1816. He had a son Jonathan Winfield Scott Hartman born 1861 named after the Mexican War General Winfield Scott. JWS lived near the Valley View Methodist Church and his three sons Robert Garland, Cecil Calloway and Charlie Thomas Hartman all resided in the same neighborhood.
