WALKER REUNION PICNIC 2006

Walker Picnic Saturday June 24, 2006 was held at Bay's Mountain Park with 36 in attendance. This year the host was Jim Hale, son of Lois Walker Hale and David Dukes, husband of decd. Janis Hale Dukes, sister to Jim Hale. Those in attendance were mainly from Henry Martin and Amanda Jane Bacon Walker's son's Henry Andrew and Elmer Guy Walker

WALKER REUNION WITH DESCENDANTS of WILLIAM and SUSANNAH GRAHAM WALKER

SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2005, at Bay's Mountain Park. Attending were Stephen and Edeltraut Hunt from Bethesda, MD, Dana and Amanda Jane York and a friend from Maryland; Jean and Shirley McGrath from Spokane, WA, Fritz, Lori, Abby and Alex Thumler from Knoxville, TN, Jimmy and Mary Ann Bacon Nelson, Gary, Helen, Shane, Christina, and Zac Scheureman, Jim, Rory and Alexander Hale, Hobart and Phyllis Bowman Powell, Andy, Jada, Kelsey and Kayla Bowman, Bart, Lori, Audrey and Emily Walker, Charles "Bit" and Rita Keys, John and Nancy Walker Shanks, Linda Bayless Gyurcsik, Don and Jeanne Roberts Walker, Bailey Johnson, Aileen Kincheloe Mitchell and Sammie Kincheloe Keys, Carter, Melanie and Maddie Warden, and Cyrus and Janelle Walker Warden


Those families represented were from the JOHN WALKER, WILLIAM WALKER AND ANDREW WALKER families. Melanie Whitson Warden did the decorating in the theme of AMERICA red, white and blue colors with the donkey and the elephant representing our diverse family. Carter Warden, Janelle Walker Warden and Jackie Walker O'Connor were the host & hostesses this year. Janelle Warden brought a computer and scanner and got some great pictures from Phyllis Bowman Powell, Nancy Walker Shanks, Shirley Brannan McGrath and Linda Bayless Guyurcsik



  • Sarah Matilda Walker, daughter of William and Mary Brown Walker married Elbert Winton Keys on June 28, 1866. Their son Charles Elbert Keys, became the grandfather of Charles "Bit" Keys and Nancy Merle Walker Shanks


  • William Walker married Mary Brown on December 18, 1834. He settled on Blakly Creek and to this day many descendants are living on the same land, including Charles "Bit" Keys who came to our reunion. William gave the land for the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and Cemetery
