BURIALS IN THE KEEBLER-BARKLEY CEMETERY

I finally got to Uncle Sammy Keebler home place off Barkley Rd in Bowmantown (Telford) and talked with the new owner of the house and she told me about Bill Kyker who works the farm there who would be the one to help me get into the cemetery (barbed wire electric gates and fence) and Bill Kyker was very helpful. There is a fence around the small cemetery and the ground around the graves has been concreted which certainly helps to keep briers away from the tombstones. There are quite a few slave graves to the east side. And yes Great Great Grandmother Mary Ann Prudence Ingersoll Barkley with GG Grandfather Daniel Burgess Barkley on the upper North end of the cemetery and next to them in what I will call the second row or middle row was Uncle Samuel Keebler and on the other side of him was Aunt Mary Keebler. Caroline Ingersoll was down the same row from them. The same row has Great Great Great Great Grandparents Jacob A and Mary Barbara Young Keebler ; she is listed as Mary Keebler Sr. Celinda or Malinda Keebler Haws tombstone was not readable so I am thinking she was one in the same row near Caroline. The row next to the fence and entrance by the gate were graves of neighbors. The Keebler slaves were on the other side of the fence or the third row

A very interesting stone in the front yard by the road which at one time was the Old Stage Road and folks would step up to get on the stagecoach. I also found one in Max Meadows, Wythe Co., Virginia which was also the Old Stage Road
