Marena was born April 2, 1819 in Washington Co., Tennessee and died August 26, 1898 in Monroe Co., Kentucky

Late June 2011 I made the trip to Monroe Co and Barren Co., Kentucky where I met Bacon cousins and walked around three cemeteries. So much has been learned from going there. The story had been handed down that two sets of Bacons came to Monroe Co. and Barren Co., Kentucky but today we know those Bacons to be related as double cousins through James and Magdalena Bacon and Charles and Eva Bacon. Jonathan Bacon son of Charles & Elizabeth Carey Bacon must have gone just after the Civil War to Kentucky where he married and came back to Tennessee and had two sons born in Tennessee...Silvanus Bacon then moved with Jonathan to Barren Co., Kentucky where descendants live today at Temple Hill. Montgomery Bacon, a brother also moved to Kentucky and was known as "Gomery" ; John and Marena Fawbush Bacon move to Monroe Co., Kentucky in the 1840's and continued to live in Tompkinsville, Monroe Co., Kentucky. John had aunts who also moved to Monroe Co., Kentucky ; Monroe and Barren Counties in Kentucky are much like our Washington Co., Tennessee - there are a lot of kin living there today
Round about Barren Co and Monroe Co., Kentucky ; a trip I thoroughly enjoyed and now I know more about the Bacons in Kentucky than the Bacons in Tennessee
