JAMES MADISON HUNT
James Madison Hunt was born and lived on Buffalo Ridge. His first marriage was to Nancy Bacon granddaughter of John Bacon and Unknown wife (is it possible her name may have been Laura since Nancy names her baby Laura E? Parents of Nancy were Jeremiah and Delilah Pritchett)
We see James M Hunt married a second time
After 1900 we find Sarah Jane, Florence and James M Hunt, Jr living together. The following picture is James Madison Hunt, Jr as a young boy. He becomes the father of Beryl Hunt and James M Hunt, III

Sarah Martin Hunt felt asleep in Jesus January 11, 1913, at her home at Sulphur Springs. She was converted and joined the M.E. Church in early life, but after her marriage she joined with her husband the Christian Church where she remained a faithful Christian till death. In 1862 she married J.M. Hunt, who died some ten years ago and was the second person to be buried in the new cemetery at Sulphur Springs, his daughter Blanche Hunt Deakins, being the first. To this union were born three sons, J.S., W.H., and J.M. Hunt, Jr., of Sulphur Springs, and three daughters, Mrs. R.A.N. Walker, Mrs. J.M. Deakins, dec'd,, and Flora Hunt. Aunt Sarah, as she was familiarly called, was a woman of very strong character and she so stamped it on her children as to cause them to become strong and useful men and women, and though she is gone her influence will live on. Her funeral was conducted by Rev. A.C. Ketron and was attended by a large crowd of sorrowing friends. Her death followed close after her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bessie Campbell Hunt, and has brought great sorrow to the community. The deaths, in last few months, of R.B. Bacon, Joseph Milburn, Nelson Duncan, Bessie Hunt and Sarah Hunt leaves a gap in the social and religious of life of Sulphur Springs that will indeed be hard to fill. May the God who takes away raise up other laborers to take up His work where these laid it down is the sincere wish of A. Friend
