DAVID SHREVE
David Shreve was the eldest child and only son of William Shreve and Anna Smalley Shreve. William and Anna Smalley married January 06, 1746/47 in the Piscataway Seventh Day Baptist by Rev. Jonathan Dunham. Son David was born about 1748 followed by three sisters (unsure of birth order of the girls); (1)Sarah (2)Elizabeth (3) Mary. Anna died about 1755 in Middlesex Co., Piscataway, New Jersey. William was left with four young children so he marries Catharine Martin who is a cousin to Anna. On November 10, 1755 William marries Catharine Martin at Middlesex Co., Piscataway, NJ/ by Rev. Jonathan Dunham. Were the Shreves on the move between 1745-1763 from Piscataway to Maryland and Virginia? William Sr and Freelove must have joined in the move from New Jersey to Maryland & Virginia. In Loudoun Co., Virginia, William Sr. dies and grandson William Martin Shreve is born and William Jr. makes a will and dies soon after now leaving Catharine with two son, David & William Martin Shreve and three daughters Sarah, Mary & Elizabeth Shreve. Catherine marries Rev David Thomas a well known Baptist Minister and here we are not certain if David & Catherine had a son perhaps named John Thomas? From Rev David's will he may have adopted the girls or they used his name of Thomas some of the time. And Rev David removes to Kentucky because of religious views of different Baptist. We do not know when Rev David and Catharine came to Mason Co., Kentucky ; whether about 1792 and making a move down to Fayette Co., along Hickman Creek and the Kentucky River by 1798 where he met and prayed with Jeremiah Vardeman in his cabin on Hickman Creek ; Rev David was getting very old and blind by 1800

Nancy marries again to Robert Cantrell and has three children: Rhoda, Francis, & Thompson Cantrell
