| Anwyl Families[The]. Vol. I by Philip H. Lawson, Margery M. Anwyl and Thomas Anwyl-Davies. The work started in 1909 and is still being added to. The first publication was around 1945, I think. The second was 1982 and there has been an update in 1999. This is the descent of Lewis Anwyl of Llanfrothen, died 1605. It covers most known Anwyls in the world. Vol. II is by Margery M. Anwyl and refers to the different Anwyl family from Caerwys. Papers from the first 40 years or so are in NLW. Since both Vols. have been published privately, it is difficult to get hold of to check but for anyone interested in the name Anwyl, either as a Christian or surname, it is invaluable. | Glyn Jones |
