Bieg, daughter of Frederick Bieg and Sophia Wilhelmina Tutor, on 29 May 1919 at St. Mary's Church, Dunton, Queens County, New York.6 Frank Edwin Rowan died on 24 Jan 1955 at Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut, at age 58.7,4

     Frank was confirmed at Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut.1 Frank served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Commander, then served in the U.S. Army for 10 years, and worked for the U.S. Postal Service.3 He resided with Christina T. She married Robert P. Spellacy in 1943 at Putnam, Windham County, Connecticut.1 Eileen Rowan died on 19 Jun 2009 at Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, at age 87.2

     HAMPTON — Eileen Spellacy Rowan, 87, died Friday, June 19, 2009.

She was a registered nurse and a 1944 graduate of Hartford Hospital School of Nursing, Hartford, Conn.

Mrs. Rowan was a school nurse in Hampton.

The widow of Robert "Bob" Spellacy, she is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sharon Schroeder and friend Chris of The Villages, Fla., Eileen and Neil Underwood of Greenland, Susan and Tom Power of Hampton and Peggy and Bob Bean of Hampton Falls; grandchildren and their spouses, Christina and Bill Rioux of Austin, Texas, Allie Hampton-Hogue and Tony of Round Rock, Texas, Nathan Underwood of Portland, Maine, Jenny and Allen Covell of York, Maine, Cassandra Underwood and Justin Tougas of Greenland, Justin and Julie McDaniel of Hampton, Julie McDaniel and Mark MacDonald of Rye, and Emily and Robbie Bean of Hampton Falls; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Rowan of Red Rock, Ark., and Hampton Falls and Paul and Sue Rowan of Branford, Conn.

WE REMEMBER: She was born Oct. 16, 1921, in New York City, the daughter of Frank and Christina Beig Rowan.

She was raised in New York City and Pomfret, Conn., moving to Hampton in 1954.

She was an equestrian, tended her parents' general store and ice cream shop and created loving memories with her grandmother, Ella Benson, while living in Pomfret.

She was a homemaker and mother of four daughters. She participated in 4-H and Pony Clubs, was an accomplished cook, an organic gardener and an avid skier, swimmer and tennis player. She enjoyed sewing and needle arts, board and card games, loved the beach and the family camp in Otis, Maine.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Oceanside Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Francour wing whose attentive care and love was felt every day. They also acknowledge the support of Allegiance Hospice.

SERVICES: The family will receive friends Friday, June 26, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the First Congregational Church, 127 Winnacunnet Road, Hampton. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Deborah Knowlton, pastor, officiating. Jay Halloran will be the soloist.

A celebration of her life will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Pelican Club, Galley Hatch Restaurant, Hampton.

Flowers are acceptable and may be delivered to 143 Winnacunnet Road, Hampton, c/o June Bean, or memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.

Assistance with the arrangements was by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.3
     She resided with Frederick Bieg and Sophia Wilhelmina Tutor at 113-17 103rd Avenue, Richmond Hill, Queens County, New York, in 1925.4 Eileen Rowan resided with Christina T. Bieg and Frank Edwin Rowan at Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut, in 1940.5 Eileen Rowan lived at 127 Drinkwater Rd, Hampton Falls, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, in 2000, in an apartment on the property of her daughter Peggy.6
