Assembly Of God Church corner of Spruce & Hemlock St. in Dixon built in 1948

This is the church where my Grandma went and later started teaching Sunday School. I can remember after Grandma's health no longer permitted her to go to Church she would watch Foursquare sermons on tv. She also would drag out the things she used for Sunday School, and teach me about the stories in the bible. Grandma gave me my first Bible when I was 1yrs old. It was one of the small New Testament Bibles. I still have the bible along with the full sized one that she bought and signed the inside for me on my 10th birthday. I also attended Assembly Of God Church for many years, and was a member of the Missionettes group for children on Saturdays. My love of God came from my Grandma's early teachings of the Bible, and Gods love for us sending us his son to die for us. Thank you Grandma for this.

When Grandma lived on Sproul Street we had a robin the seemed to like Grandma's place. Each year we would see this robin come back year after year. We knew that it was the same robin by the attitude of this bird. It would come right up to the porch and sing untill we brought him out food. We enjoyed that bird for many many years when I was a child. Even the birds knew when they had met a very special person.
