Text of will of Jacob Dierdorff (d. 1868):
The last Will and Testament of Jacob Dierdorff of Dover Township York County and State of Pennsylvania, In the name of God, Amen. I Jacob Dierdorff considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and testament, in manner and form following (that is to say). First, I direct my Executors herein after named to pay my funeral expenses and my lawful debts out of my estate after my decease. Second, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rebecca all the hard money Silver & Gold in my possession at the time of my decease, also two Bedsteads and Bedding and as much household and Kitchen furniture as she may choose to take for her own use. Third, I give and bequeath unto my son Andrew one Wagon & Bed, Bows & fee-trough, one barrow, and one Plough. Fourth, I give and bequeath unto my two sons, namely Philip and Andrew, five hundred Dollars, each, in advance and above the amount of my Daughters. Fifth, I direct my Executor to make public sale of the residue of my personal property and of all my real Estate as soon as convenient after my decease, and empowering him to make and execute titles to the whole or any part of my real property as fully as I could do in my lifetime and the money arising therefrom I direct to be distributed as follows, I order and direct that fifteen hundred dollars shall remain in said real property (as a dower) and the Interest of the same to be paid to my said beloved Wife Rebecca annually during her natural life, and the Balance or residue of my estate to be Equally divided amongst all my Children share and share alike, one share to my son Philip, one share to my son Andrew, one share to my daughter Mary Intermarried to John Markey, one share to my daughter Leah Intermarried to Absolom Ditmore, one share to my daughter Elizabeth Intermarried to Levi Keohler, also my Will is if any of my said Children or their husbands are not satisfied with the foregoing Will, or go to law, then such one shall have only one dolar of my said Estate. And lastly, I nominate and appoint Chrisian T. Raffensparger of Washington Township York County, Executor of this my last Will and testament and I do hereby revoke and dissannull all and every former Wills by me made, Ratifying and confiming this and no other to be my last Will and testament, In testimony Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 15th day May in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

The will was presented for probate on April 22, 1868. Inventory was filed May 19, 1868.
