This is an 1898 testimony by Alexander Price of Bloomingburg, Ohio. It concerns the disability pension of Andrew Dittmann who was in the same Company. [It has been transcribed with the original spelling, grammatical errors, and minor editing.]

The first of Comrad Ditman Trouble to the Best of my knoledge Comenst at Galopolice Ohio with Direar whear he had to Have the Caunter Sign and the Lewtenant Ankey gave it to him then the next was when we went to Franklin Weste Va By wading the South Branch of the Potomick River whitch gave him a severe Cold of whitch he complaned of for a good While. Then when we Returned on the march Back to Petersburg West Va the Same Stream had to Be Recrost whitch with Laying on the Damp ground in Creast his complaint and From there the Regiment went on to Cross Kees and they had to wade the River again. Then I did not see him Eny more till July a Bout the 4 when I Reached the Regiment with the tents and Baggage the Belong to Company C 60th OVI and he was still Complaining and did till we ware Discharged at Camp Douglass Ill. on November about the 15 1862. This is all I can Say he was a messmate with me in the Same tent When we had a tent.
