![]() Carl was not listed as a WWI veteran. The 1920 census lists Carl and Ernestine, both age 22, living in Cloud Co, Arion twp., Kansas. Carland Ernestine were both born in Kansas. Carl and Ernestine had two daughters. Joyce BROWN was born about 1921 in Kansas, and Donna Fae BROWN was born about 1924 in Kansas, according to the 1930 census for Concordia, Cloud Co, KS. That census also indicated that Ernestine's father was from Germany and her mother from PA, while Carl's father was from OH and his mother from IA. Their daughter Joyce married a Mr. WARD, then Fred McMULLIN (b 9 Aug 1909; d 14 Aug 1974), a son of Willard Eli and Myrtle Johnson McMULLIN. The KSGenWeb source [http://skyways.lib.ks.us/genweb/marshall/families.html] makes it sound as though Carl died in the 1950s, saying that after Fred retired in 1956, he and Ernestine traveled, then moved to Ventura, Ventura Co., CA. Ernestine died there on June 26, 1969.
Fred also died in Ventura, CA, in June 1972, per the SSDI records.
