* Joel and Ann (SHORT) Baily [Bayly] came separately from England to Chester Co PA. A son of Daniel and Mary Bayly, Joel arrived around 1683 as a servant and married Ann in Chester Co PA. According to his will, they had 8 or 9 children: Daniel, Isaac, Joel, Thomas, John, Josiah, Mary Harlan, and Ann. One granddaughter, Ann Stewart was also listed, implying a married daughter, Mrs. Stewart, had died before her father, who died early in 1732, Chester Co, PA.
* Thomas Baily, son of Joel and Ann (SHORT) BAILY, was born in the early 1700s. He married Sarah Bentley, daughter of John and Mary Bentley in 1734. He was a Quaker. He died about 1764 in Newlin Township of Chester Co, PA. Although there was no will, letters of administration were issued to his son, John Baily. [Therefore, he was not Thomas Baily later of Brooke Co VA.
