The New Bern Daily Journal reported on April 24, 1902, that "There was a marriage at Zorah Sunday. Fred W. Toler and Miss Julia Booth were united by J.B.      William Emmett Pittman married Thelma Hardy. William Emmett Pittman was born on 19 October 1915 in Carteret County, North Carolina. He was the son of Willie Sanders Pittman and Mary Melissa Toler. William Emmett Pittman died on 27 September 1982 at age 66.¹

     Nannie Hardy was born on 15 January 1924.¹ She married Levi Pittman, son of Willie Sanders Pittman and Mary Melissa Toler, in 1940. Nannie Hardy died on 17 November 2006 at age 82.¹

     Luther Martin Lewis was born on 24 September 1911. He married Lillian Gertrude Pittman, daughter of Willie Sanders Pittman and Mary Melissa Toler, in 1933. Luther Martin Lewis died on 1 October 2003 at age 92.

     Lewis Henry Taylor married Sarah Elizabeth Toler, daughter of William Ernest Toler and Amanda Jones, on 23 November 1912 in Hunting Quarter Township, Carteret County, North Carolina.¹
