Dennis Perdue Toler and son, John Toler.
     John A. Toler was born on 30 November 1878 (birth taken from his death certificate, also same date is listed on 1918 Registration Card for World War I Draft, Craven County). He was the son of Dennis Perdue Toler and Julia Luvain Rowe. John A. Toler married Susan [or Sarah] Jane Toler, daughter of Zachariah Toler and Susan Daw, on 2 March 1904 in Craven County, North Carolina.1 John A. Toler died on 6 January 1942 in Craven County, North Carolina, at age 63 . The cause of death was listed as "heart attack. He died suddenly while walking on Highway #17."2 He was buried on 7 January 1942 in Purifoy Cemetery, Bridgeton, Craven County, North Carolina.2
