     Benjamin Rice married Mary (?). Benjamin Rice was born before 1702 in Calvert County, Maryland.³ He was the son of Evan Rice and Elizabeth Cleverly.^1,2 Benjamin Rice died between 12 September 1745 and June 1746 in Beaufort County, North Carolina.³

     Mary (?) married Benjamin Rice, son of Evan Rice and Elizabeth Cleverly.

     Benjamin Rice was the son of Benjamin Rice and Mary (?). Benjamin Rice died.

     James Rice was the son of Benjamin Rice and Mary (?). James Rice left a will on 8 March 1772 in Craven County, North Carolina. The will reads as follows:
In the Name of god Amen. I James Rice of the County of Craven In the province of North Carolina Being weak and feeble in Body But of Perfect Mind and Memory thanks to god for it Calling to Mind the Mortality of Mans Body Knowing that It is appointed for all men once to Die Do make ordain and Constitute this my Last will and Testament In the Manner and form following. Viz...
Principally and first of all I Recommend my Soul Into the hands of god that gave it, my Body to the Earth to Be Buryed in a Christian Like Manner Nothing Doubting But at the general Resurrection I Shall Receive the same again By the Mighty Power of god, and as to my worldly goods which it hath pleased god to Bless me with, I give and Dispose of In the following Manner...
Item I give and Bequeath unto my Brother Gedion Rice all my Lands and plantation where I Now Live to him and his heirs forever only he the Said Gideon Must pay unto Mary Rice Twenty Eight Shillings which is Due from me to her.
Item I Leave my household Goods Stock &c. to be sold at Vendue and the Money to be Equally Devided Between my Brothers Evan Rice, Ephraim Rice and Thomas Rice son of Cleaverly Rice, Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Eighth Day of March 1772.¹ He died after 8 March 1772.

     Evan Rice was the son of Benjamin Rice and Mary (?). Evan Rice married Jane (?). Evan Rice died between June 1806 and September 1806 in Craven County, North Carolina.

     Clanerly Rice was the son of Benjamin Rice and Mary (?). Clanerly Rice was also known as Cleaverly Rice.

     Ephraim Rice was the son of Benjamin Rice and Mary (?). Ephraim Rice married Rebecca (?). Ephraim Rice died circa 1788.

     Hezekiah Rice was the son of Benjamin Rice and Mary (?).

     Gideon Rice was the son of Benjamin Rice and Mary (?). Gideon Rice married Sarah (?). Gideon Rice died circa 1803 in Craven County, North Carolina.

     Daughters?? Rice was the daughter of Benjamin Rice and Mary (?).

     William Dunn was the son of John Dep Dunn and Rachel (?). William Dunn married Elizabeth West on 17 April 1811 in Craven County, North Carolina. William Dunn died circa 1816. He Craven County estate probated in 1816.
William's father's will and estate papers say William had two children, but they are never named.
Family tradition states that David D. Dunn is one of those children.

     Elizabeth West married William Dunn, son of John Dep Dunn and Rachel (?), on 17 April 1811 in Craven County, North Carolina.

     One other child Dunn was born. One other child Dunn was the child of William Dunn and Elizabeth West.

     John Dep Dunn was born say 1745. He was the son of David Dunn and Elizabeth? Depp. John Dep Dunn married Rachel (?). David left a will on 21 October 1768 in Craven County, North Carolina. John Dep was executors of the will; The will left legacies as follows and was probated December Term 1768.
Son Francis and Daughter Penelope given the plantation where he now dwells containing 400 acres of land.
Son David given 300 acres adjoining above lands, remainder of cows.
Daughter Elizabeth given 300 acres on the West side of Little Swift Creek opposite Abraham Moors.
Daughter Penelope given Negro wench named Nan, several stock animals.
Son Francis given Negro man named Jefery, several stock animals.
Son John given Negro man named Andrew, several cows.
Daughter Elizabeth given Negro boy named Abram, several cows.
Sons John and David and daughter Penelope named executors.

Daughter Bethany one two year old heifer, one cow and calf, one chest, and a big pot.

My son William's two children one ewe and lamb a peace.
Remainder of estate divided between John, Elizabeth, Sally, Rachel, Moses, Bethany, Lovey, and my son William's two children to have the part or share that their father would have received if he had been living.

Signed John 22 January 1816 Dunn, by his mark. on 22 January 1816. He left a will on 22 January 1816 in Craven County, North Carolina. He died circa December 1817 in Craven County, North Carolina.²

     Rachel (?) married John Dep Dunn, son of David Dunn and Elizabeth? Depp.

     John Dunn was the son of John Dep Dunn and Rachel (?). John Dunn Craven County Deeds between John C. and Elijah Dunn to David Whitford and Levin Dunn to David Whitford.
John C., Elijah, and Levin are sons of John Dunn, son of John Dep Dunn, son of David Dunn. He died in 1818.

     Moses Dunn was the son of John Dep Dunn and Rachel (?). Moses Dunn married Betsey Dunn on 12 January 1818.

     Elizabeth Dunn was the daughter of John Dep Dunn and Rachel (?).

     Sarah Dunn was the daughter of John Dep Dunn and Rachel (?).

     Rachel Dunn was the daughter of John Dep Dunn and Rachel (?).

     Bethany Dunn was the daughter of John Dep Dunn and Rachel (?). Bethany Dunn married John Hall on 21 January 1812.

     Lovey Dunn was the daughter of John Dep Dunn and Rachel (?). Lovey Dunn married William Thomas on 11 September 1814 in Craven County, North Carolina.

     David Dunn was born say 1718. He married Elizabeth? Depp say 1740. "At a Council held at Newberne the 4th day of May 1742. Present His Excellency the Governour. The Honourable Eleazer Allen, Mathew Rowan, Edward Moseley, Roger Moore, Esqrs. Members of Council....The following Persons were admitted to prove their Rights in order to their taking up Land...David Dunn [Craven County] 3 white 2 black."¹
"At a Council held the 7th day of May 1742. Present as before...Read Sundry Petitions for Warrants...David Dunn 50 [Acres] Craven County."
David Dunn received a grant of land in Craven County, North Carolina, on 15 November 1744. The 100 acres of land was located between Peter Reel and John Robinson on the lower prong of Swifts Creek. In the entry, David is listed as "Single man."^2,3
He received a grant of land in Craven County, North Carolina, on 27 February 1746/47. The 200 acre grant was located near "his head line" and over a branch of Swifts Creek.
He appeared in Craven County court June 1748 to record the stock marks of Penelope Dun (crop & under keel the right ear, crop & over keel & two slits in the left), Elizabeth Dun (crop & under keel the left ear, crop & over keel & two slits in the right), and John Dep Dun (crop & under keel the left ear, over keel in the right).⁴
David left a will on 21 October 1768 in Craven County, North Carolina, The will left legacies as follows and was probated December Term 1768.

     Francis Dunn was born after 1748 as he was not of age in 1769 when his father's estate was being settled.¹ He was the son of David Dunn and Elizabeth? Depp. Francis Dunn sold land to Moses Ernul on 25 September 1786 in Craven County, North Carolina, . The 200 acres of land was part of a patent granted to David Dunn on 17 Apr 1745 and 7 Apr 1767 and given to Francis by the will of his father. The land was located on the south side of Little Swift Creek and joined the "Pamplico Road". It was purchased for £100 "current money."

     Penelope Dunn was born say 1741. She was the daughter of David Dunn and Elizabeth? Depp. Penelope Dunn married Michael Curman. Penelope Dunn died circa 1794 as she was appointed administratrix of her husband's estate in 1791, but her son John was appointed administrator in 1794, possibly due to Penelope's death.
