A notice in the North Carolina Gazette dated 22 November 1794, read as follows: "Whereas my wife Mary Squers, has left my bed and board; I forwarn all persons, from trusting her on my account; as I will pay no debt of her contracting. AMOS SQUERS." Amos Squires married Mary Saunders on 26 December 1799 in Craven County, North Carolina.1 Amos Squires died before 1801.
