The stumbling blocks on my W*GG* line: I am trying to find information concerning my Grandfather Harry Oliver Dorrington who married Violet Maria Wegg at Erpingham. Violet's mothers maiden name was Maria Laxen. There were three children from the union, Violet and Marjorie, and Percival who married my Mother Clara Margaret Nee Pointer. I have just started to look at the Wiggs, my husbands great grandfather was married to Joanna Wigg married to Henry Siffleet 1857 she died of TB 1861. Their daughter went to live with her Uncle Robert Wigg but so far this is all I know. I am waiting for Joanna and Henry's marriage certificate to help me with her father.Any clues? |

This is a fantastic site. I didn't know there were so many Wiggs in the world. My mother was Violet Wigg from Faversham, Kent. Her family came to Canada in 1910. thanks Vivian for a wonderful job! |

Although I am not actively persuing the WAGG line, I do have an interest in that two of my SMYTH first cousins, one time removed, married two WAGG gents. Ray & John WAGG married Doris & Irene SMYTH of Manitoulin Is. Ontario Canada. I would be very interested to hear from anyone connected to this family. |

This is'nt a stumbling block, its to tell you that l have found out lots of information about James Wagg born 1818 in west Rudham, Norfolk. l have found out who his parents were, James Wagg born c 1795 in Fring, Norfolk, and his wife Mary Michel (Mitchell) born c 1801, who married on the 13th February 1817 in Rudham Norfolk. Could you please send me your address as l have lots of photographs, and information to send to you, and my computer has been acting rather strangly, and people are not getting the information.
