The Will of Uriah Briant Vines 1838 This is the last will and testament of me Uriah Briant Vines of Newbury in the county of Berks, auctioneer, I give and bequeath all my property both real and personal of which I may be possessed, interested in or entitled unto at the time of my decease (after payment of my debts and funeral and testamentary expenses) unto my brother Joseph Vines and my partner and cousin David Vines of Reading in the said county of Berks gentleman, to hold the same unto and to the use of my said brother and cousin, their heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever in equal shares and proportions as tenants in common and not as joint tenants and I appoint my said brother and cousin joint executors of this my will. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty sixth day of Dec one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight. Signed sealed published and declared by the said Uriah Briant Vines the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses Jonathon Lovejoy Proved at London 8th February 1843 before the worshipful John Danvary? Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of Joseph Vines the brother, one of the executors to whom admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer. Bryant Vines was the third son of Jacob1756 Vines, son of Edward1725 and
Ann Henly. He was baptised at East Tytherton Moravian Church 12th May 1790.
From the brevity and nature of this will it appears that he did not marry.
He was an auctioneer at Newbury, Berks, near Reading.
A coronial
inquest was held into the death of Uriah.
