[1]
Married John Sutton
1743, lived at Highworth. See Elizabeth Vines will of 1768.
[2]
Married Margaret Skull 1746, at Tockenham
[3]

Roger Vines married Anne Hendly at Wootton Bassett 1st Feb 1609 (Nimrod Index)
It would appear likely that both Roger and William were either brothers or cousins of Thomas, and that they all married at about the same time. This would make their birth dates very probably in the 1580s or 90s. Note that Wootton Bassett is about 2-3 miles or an hours walk from Grittenham and Tockenham while Christian Malford is about 6-7 miles away.

[4]

Robert of Grittenham died 1676, buried at Tockenham. Will 1674. Wife Jone buried at Tockenham 1665.
Wife is named in will 1674 as Elizabeth.
Robert also mentions in his will his cousin John Wheeler and Hannah; the latter might have been his sister or half sister, daughter of Thomas.
[5]
Mentioned in 1639 will.
[6]

Charles married Ann Wiseman of Stoke, Bucks in 1708 at Tockenham. He died 1719.
Benjamin was administrator of his estate with Charles wife, see admon 1720.

A Charles was mentioned in Johns will 1713, but not in Christians will 1725.This is either John's son or nephew.
[7]
Married Mary Baker. Took over Vines Farm after his mother died
in 1768. Joined Moravian Church 1769.
See Mary's will 1810.
She lived at East Tytherton in her old age and was regareded as a wealthy widow.
[8]
William Vines married Mary Lipyett on 24th July 1609 at Christian Malford.
[9]
Thought to be William of Purton, broadloom weaver, who inherited his fathers loom, 1639 will. See also wills 1674 and 1677. He married Alice Bristowe of Lea 27 Nov 1656 at Malmesbury
[10]
Mentioned in 1639 will.
[11]
Married Elizabeth Howells at Long Newnton 1744
[12]
Farmer and weaver of Tockenham, known by his will of 1639.
Inferred with good grounds that:
1 Thomas in the 1639 will is the same as mentioned in Geoffrey Skull's will 1616.
2 From children's names and presence of Skull family at nearby Grittenham (will of Agnes' father 1616) that Thomas married twice.
3 Thomas married Agnes Skull c1610
Childrens birth dates are estimated.
[13]
See will 1639 of Thomas of Tockenham. Married with children at that time.
Perhaps this was the John Vines who, with his wife, was buried on 17th Dec 1676 at Brinkworth.
[14]
Mentioned in 1639 will.
[15]

John's will of 1713 describes himself as a yeoman of Grittenham. His wife Christian in her will of 1725 mentions her sons Benjamin and John, but not Daniel and Charles as John does in the 1713 will. (Charles died 1719).
Inferred to be the son of John c1638 or Thomas c1636.

[16]

Benjamin leased fields from Grittenham Manor. A surveyed plan was made when the Manor came in the hands
of the Fox family, Lord Holland about 1760. The Vines Farm was quoted as being 119 acres in 1815. It is thought that this farm was held by Robert Vines as early as1660. Benjamin married Eliz Holliday at Lydiard Tregoze in 1717.
[17]
Thought to have lived part of life at Reading, family well educated, sons Jacob and Edward were solicitors.
[18]
See 1616 will of Geoffrey Skull of Grittenham.
[19]
Wife Elizabeth in 1639 will, mention of "well beloved brother-in-law John Beckett."

[31]

Robert of Grittenham died 1676, buried at Tockenham. Will 1674. Wife Jone buried at Tockenham 1665.
Wife is named in will 1674 as Elizabeth.
Robert also mentions in his will his cousin John Wheeler and Hannah; the latter might have been his sister or half sister, daughter of Thomas.
[32]

Daniel of Dauntsey. Married Jane about 1686, sons born 1687 and 1689. He died 1689 aged more than 50 as he was named in the 1639 will. Will of 1689 provided only for Jane until boys reached age of 21, or earlier remarriage.
Apparently his farm was prosperous from the inventory.
The will mentions a house at Blackland and Thomas Vines Farm, Marriage Park.

[33]

Jane was considerably younger than Daniel. She did not remarry on his death but took up as housekeeper to Robert Lewis and bore him 5 children from 1695-03. Four of these were baptised as Vines.
Jane was buried as a Vines widow 1735.
