Notes
General:
In his published family history (in Delaware biographical encyclopedia) William Henry Smith Sr omitted him, but says all ten children of William Smith and Mary DeHaven, of whom he lists the other nine, married.
Winfield Scott was the name of a famous Civil War era general and U.S. presidential candidate, and unfortunately Winfield Scott Smith is not as unusual a name in that time as one would expect. There are several whole dynsties of Winfield Scott Smith's whose famlies went west and who achieved mention in public record, and a hatter of that name in Philadelphia. I thought this guy would prove traceable!
However, this is probably the Winfield Scott Smith who lived in White Clay Creek in the 1900 census. That Winfield Scott Smith was married to Almeta.
