bullet  General Notes:

He must have come to Southbridge, Massachusetts. One of his children, Narcisse was married there - unless Narcisse simply followed relatives. Two of his children married a son and daughter of the Bastien family. Descendants of the Carpentier family Victoire married into also moved to Southbridge. Victoire's children all married in Southbridge. Grandson Armand Carpentier died in Massachusetts 9 Nov 1924; his brother Noe died in Southbridge, 19 Mar 1953.

It looks likely that cousins came too. One of the clan married Exila Girouard, the daughter of Jean-Baptiste Girouard. Both names ran in the Girard family.

Six of the children were obtained from Marriages of St-Germain de Grantham.

Three of the chlidren, Exilda, Malvina, and Adelaide, were obtained from Rootsweb. The other six were there as well.

Except where other wise noted, my source on Michel Girard and Marie Durand is Rootsweb Genconnect.

Michel married Marie DURAND, daughter of Joseph DURAND and Ursule BRISSETTE, on 25 Jul 1849 in Ste-Elisabeth de Joliette, Quebec. (Marie DURAND was born about 1830.)
