Some people, including Roz on the Internet, wrongly have Pierre Thibault as the father of Nicolas who married Therese Marsta. As Nanette Thibault explained in an e-mail, Jan 26 2006, A certain Mathias Thibault wrote a small little essay many years ago and made a big mistake.
I am a descendant of Pierre Léveillé. (Pierre Thibault dit Leveille) Here what happened. Thérèse Masta and Nicolas had a son named Nicolas that lived in the city of St-Ours during wars in the beginning of the 1800. Pierre Th.-Léveillé had also a grand-son named Nicolas living in the same part of the country. The author Mathias mixed up the two. So instead of going his way to a link to Pierre Th.-Léveillé, he really made a big mistake.
Another note on Pierre Thibault dit L'Eveile; He was another pioneer. He was a soldier from d'Agen, actually a prefecture of the department of Lot-et-Garonne. At five kilometers from this town exitsted already a palce called Montreal. The duchesse of Aiguillon, niece of Cardinal Richelieu, was moreover the seigneresse. Coincidence, it is at Montreal that in 1687 he married Catherine Beaudry, daughter of Antoine and of CAtherine Guyard. Pierre, moreover, lived his life in the Isle of Montreal, first of all to Pointe-aux-Trembles, then to Riviere-des-Prairies. The couple had fifteen children, but five died at young age. Four sons founded homes. Nicolas married Marie-Anne Simon, daughter of Leonard and of Mathurine Beaujean and they had seven children.
Nicholas married Therese Masta (MARSTA), daughter of Toussaint MASTA (MARSTA) and Marie-Therese LECLERC, on 12 May 1723 in St-Francois-de-Sales, Ile Jesus, Quebec. (Therese Masta (MARSTA) was born on 23 Jun 1704 in St-Francois-de-Sales, Ile Jesus, Quebec and died on 27 Mar 1776 in St-Ours, Richelieu, Quebec.)
