A note for the marriage record of child Alexis notes that Pierre was not still living.
The line from here to the founder, Jean Laspron dit Lacharite from France, is controversial. The controversy apparently centers on what Claude married Pierre's mother. Here is a discussion from the Lacharite web site: http://www.lacharite.ca/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=37
Marguerite Foucault (i73) was born on or about 8 Nov 1698 in Trois-Rivières to Denis Foucault and Catherine Pelletier. The real question is who did she marry? Many genealogical sites indicate that she was married to Claude Desfossés (i59), son of Jean-Baptiste Lasprondit Lacharité and Marguerite Geoffroy, on 4 Sep 1720 in Nicolet. But is this true? I contend that she was married to Claude Laspron (dit Lacharité) (i67), son of Jean Laspron dit Lacharité and Anne Michelle Renaud. Lets explore the evidence! The first piece of evidence comes from Claude Desfossés occupation as a "voyageur". He was engaged (employed) by a fur trading company from 1723-1730. During this same time period Marguerite had at least four children. Being a voyageur could mean years away from home so it is unlikely that she had four children during Claude Desfossés absence - however, there is a chance. He was married to Marie Françoise Guertin in 1731 - at the end of this employment with the fur trading companies and this is more consistent with his emerging family. The second piece of evidence comes from the location of where all the children were born. Claude Laspron lived in Maskinongé. Claude Desfossés lived in Nicolet. Although Marguerite was married in Nicolet, all of her children were born and baptized in Maskinongé.Given these two pieces of general evidence which are supported by the baptismal records for her children, I have come to the conclusion that Marguerite was indeed married to Claude Laspron of Maskinongé.The missing pieces of evidence are the burial record of Marie Charlotte Bruneau (i68), the first wife of Claude Laspron (dit Lacharité) and the marriage record of Claude Laspron (dit Lacharité) which might shed additional light on the issue. So the challenge for the readers and contributers to this web site is to provide proof of the relationship between Marguerite Foucault and her husband - who ever he was.
Pierre married Agathe SICARD, daughter of Jean SICARD and Marie-Angelique BARON-LUPIEN, on 21 Feb 1757 in Maskinonge, Maskinonge, Quebec. (Agathe SICARD was born about 1773 in Quebec.)
