Joseph HEBERT

  General Notes:

Joseph was the only son of Louis Hebert, and Jospeh himself was the only son of Guillaume. Oly one son was born to Joseph Charlotte; like his father, he was named Joseph. This great grandon of Louis was the last to bear the name Hebert because he died at an early age. (I have another son listed here, mabye he didn't live, or maybe he is a mistake.)

Joseph Sr had accompanied Francois Hertel in an expedition against the Iroqois a short time after his son's marriage. The two of them were taken prisoner. "For Monsieur Hebert, who was wounde by a rifle shot in the shoulder and arm, wrote Hertel to a friend, he was given to the Iroquois of Onneiout, where he was stabbed by the drunks of the land."

Joseph married Marie Charlotte DE POITIER on 12 Oct 1660. (Marie Charlotte DE POITIER was born in 1638 in Montdidier, Picardie, France.)
