bullet  General Notes:

7346. Etienne Hebert <pafg24.htm>
Two brothers, Etienne & Jacques Hebert arrived in Acadia from new recruitment conducted by Charles de Memose of Auinay of Charnisay. They are the ancestors of all Acadian families by that name. They arrived in Acadia in July 1640 under the guidznce of Germain Doucet, Lord of Verdure, Capt. of the arms of Pentagost.

*Arrived in Acadia 1640. *Jette lists birth date as 1630, Martaize, Loudon, Vienne, France.
*Steven White of the Center for Acadian Studies, says that Jacques/Marie Juneau are not the parents of Etienne and his brother Antoine.
MARRIAGE RECORDED IN LDS INTERNATIONAL GENEALOGICAL INDEX REF; BOB WAY--FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. SEPT 1992

Lookup on Hebert list: According to Stephen White, who is the authority on early Acadian genealogy, it is known from dispensations of intermarriages between descendants of Etienne and Antoine that they were brothers, but their parents are unknown.

I'm willing ot bet that Jacques was neither thier father, nor Nicolas' son.

From http://www.happyones.com/genealogy/acadia/index.html, "My Acadian Roots":

Etienne Hébert, born in Touraine, France in 1623, came to Acadia with his brother Antoine. In 1650, he married Marie Gaudet in Port Royal.
However, the names of their parents are not known. Arsenault says, in the Port-Royal volume of Histoire et généalogie des Acadiens, that Antoine and Étienne Hébert were the sons of Jacques and Marie Juneau. However, the Corrections to Arsenault states that they are not the sons of this couple, giving no further information. Steve White also says that these were not their parents.
