So, it could be that William died between 1850 and 1870, or that we was on his own by 1870. One thought is that he is the William J. Vines found in Rockingham Co., Va in 1880 married to Angeline. After William J. Vines death sometime bef. 1900, Angeline moved with some of her children to York Co., PA. The Viands in this county descend from William and Angeline Vines.

LONACONING - Gertrude Ann Cave, 81, of Devlin Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, formerly of 1 Pleasant St., Lonaconing, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, at the nursing home.

Born Nov. 16, 1916, in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Marie Darnley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cave, in 1968. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Cave formerly worked at the Celanese Fibers Corporation. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing, a member of the Alvin C. Neat VFW No. 5280 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Lonaconing Senior Citizens.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Shussett officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing, or to the Georges Creek Rescue Squad.

ROBERT K CAVE

CUMBERLAND - Robert K. Cave, 73, of Bel Air, Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997 at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born in Bloomington on May 15, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Pearl M. Cave. A retired Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, he was a member of the LaVale Lions Club, the Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport and McCoole VFW.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beth Cave; three daughters, Lesley Klishis and husband Michael, Morgantown, W.Va., Rae E. Duckworth and husband Mitchell, Frederick, and Renae Emerson and husband Brent, Harrisburg, Pa.; one son, Ralph M. Cave and wife Kim, Scott Valley, Calif.; six grandsons; and two granddaughters.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cresaptown on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daren Ritchey officiating.

Burial will be in the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the gravesite by the members of the combined veterans organizations.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Pallbearers will be Michael Klishis, Brian Klishis, Mitchell Duckworth, Matthew Duckworth, Devin Duckworth, and Brent Emerson.
