     Hal Roberts Ellis Sr. was President of Merchants and Planters Bank of Hazlehurst, head of H. R. Ellis Insurance Agency. He was educated at Mississippi College, Clinton, MS. He was deacon, treasurer and assistant superintendant of the Sunday School of the Hazlehurst Baptist Church. He was born on 22 November 1883 at Hazlehurst, Copiah, MS. He was educated in 1901 at Georgetown College, KY; ran away from college to enlist. He began military service in September 1901 enlisted in 13th U. S. Calvary and was discharged with rank of Colonel. He ended military service in 1902. He married Josie Mcmath Granberry, daughter of Joseph Dennis Granberry and Hattie Renella Webb, on 12 June 1907 at Hazlehurst, Copiah County, MS. Hal Roberts Ellis Sr. died on 23 February 1938 at age 54; killed in auto accident.

     Dr. Charles Armington Robins was Baptist. He was born on 8 December 1884 at Defiance, Iowa. He was educated in 1907 at William Jewell College, Liberty, MO; A. B. He was High School teacher from 1907-08 in 1907 at Springfield, MO. He was High School Teacher 1908-09 in 1908 at Rocky Ford, CO. He was High School Teacher 1909-10 in 1909 at Billings, Montana. He was High School Teacher 1910-13 in 1910 at Laurel, MS. He was educated in 1917 at Rush Medical College of University of Chicago; M. D. in 1917. member of Phi Gamma Delta and Nu Sigma Mu, medical fraternities. He began military service in August 1918 enlisted as 1st Lieut. Medical Corps, USA for service in WWI. Was attached to the 377the Ambulance Co. 32-th Sanitary Train, 95th Division. He ended military service on 16 December 1918; discharged. He married Marguerite Sherman Granberry, daughter of Joseph Dennis Granberry and Hattie Renella Webb, on 8 July 1919 at Hazlehurst, Copiah County, MS. Dr. Charles Armington Robins was physician and surgeon in 1934 at St. Maries, Idaho.
