At one time I was using as a working hypothesis that James "Jim" Barnes was the son of Solomon Barnes who was the son of William Barnes.  I have since been told this is not the case tho I was never provided with the information verifying it.  However, there is a possibility that James "Jim" Barnes was a descendant of a sibling of Solomon Barnes so for the present I have retained the information shown below:
