To Geertruyd Van Cortland [widow of Stephanus Van Cortlandt]

To all Christian People to whome these present writing shall come. Antie Van Texell, widow of John Cornelisse Van Texell Late of the mannor of Cortlandt, In the County of Westchester, Deceased, Catharina Lendt, widow of hendrick Lendt Late of the Said County also Deceased one of the Daughters of the Said John Cornelisse Van Texell and Cornelis Van Texell Son and heire at Law of the said John Cornelissen Van Texell. Send greeting whereas the Said John Cornelisse Van Texell at the time of his Decease Dyet Possest of a Certain Piece or Percell of Lands to the Quantity of two hundred acors Lying and being on the East Side of hudsons River in the Mouth of the high Lands. In the mannor of Cortlandt and Couty of Westchester, Commonly Called and Knowne by the name appomaghpogh. and whereas the Said Cornelisse Van Texell at the time of his Decease was Justly Indebted unto Col. Stephanus Van Cortlandt late of the City of New York also Deceased, in the Sum of two hundred pounds Currant Mony of New York. which Debt the Said Antie Van Texell Catharina Lendt and Cornelis Van Texell do hereby Acknowledge. Now Know Yee that the Said antie Van Texell Catharina Lendt and Cornelis Van Texell as well for and In Consideration of the aforesaid two hundred pounds which was Justly Due from the Said John Cornelisse Van Texell in the time of his Life to the Said Stephanus Van Cortlandt in his Life time, as for and in Consideration, of the Summ of Tenn pounds Currant Mony of New York to them the Said antie Van Texell Catharina Lendt and Cornelis Van Texell; well and Freely in hand paid at and before the Ensealing and delivery hereof by geertruyd Van Cortland widow and Executrix of the said Stephanus Van Cortlandt the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge and their debts therewith fully Contenteth Satisfyed and Paid and thereof and therefrom and of and from Every Part and Parcell thereof do for Ever acquit Exhonorate and Discharge the Said Geertruyd Van Cortlandt her heires, Execurtors - and administrators for the Same have Remised Released and for Ever Quitt Claimed and by the presents for them Selfs their heires Executors and administrators of all and Every of them do fully Clearely and absolutely Remite Release and dfore Ever End Claime unto the Said Geertruydt Van Cortlandt During the time of her Life and after her Decease to the heires of the Said Stephanus Van Cortlandt Pursuant to the Last will and testaments of him the Said Stephannus Van Cortlandt in the full & Peaceable Possession and ?Seisin? and to there heires and assignes for Ever all such Rights Title Interest and Demand whatsoever as they the Said antie Van Texell Catharina Lendt and Cornelis Van Texell now have had or ought or oughts to have of in and all that the aforesaid Piece or Parcell of Land Lying and being and Containing as aforesaid together with all the houses Barnes Stables orchards Gardens fences woods underwoods Comodities heridition and appurtenances whatsoever to the Same belonging or in any Mannor of way apportaining or there withall ?….? or Injoyed as part percell or member thereof To have and to hold the Same piece or Percell of Land herein before mentioned to bee hereby Remissed Released and for Ever Quitt Claimed with all and Singular the houses barnes Stables orchards gardens fences woods underwoods commodities hereditiments and appurtenances whatsoever unto her the Said Geertruyd Van Cortlandt during the time of her Lyfe and after her Decease unto the heires of him the Said Stephanus Van Cortlandt Pursuant to the Last will and testement of him the Said Stephanus Van Cortlandt theire Heires anad assignes to the Sole and only Propper use Benefitt and behoof of her the said Gerrtruyd Van Cortlandt During the time of her Life and after her Decease to the Sole & only Propper use Benefitt and behoof them the heires of the Said Stephanus Van Cortlandt Pursuant to the Last will and testement of him the Said Stephanus V. Cortlandt theire heires - and assines for ever. So that Nither the Said Antie Van Texell Catharina Lendt & Cornelis Van Texell nor their nor any of their heires Executors or administrators Nor any other Person or Persons for them or in their names or in the name Rights or Stead of any of them Shall or will by any way or Meanes hereafter Claime Challenge or Demand any Estaite Rights title or Intrest of in or to the Premisses or any Part or Parcell but from all and Every Action Right Estaite Title Intrest & Demand of in or to the Premisses or any Part or Parcell therof they the Said antie Van Texell Catharina Lendt and Cornelis Van Texell and theire heires Executors and administrators Shall be utterly Excluded and Barred for Ever by these Presents In wittnes whereof the Said antie Van texell Catharina Lendt and Cornelis Van Texell have hereunto Lett theire hands and Seals this ____ of _____ In the Eleventh Year of his Maj's Reign Anno Dom. 1712
