Palmer Appointed Judge
21 June 1688
"John Palmer, one of the judges of New York, whom Dongan
had sent to London with his dispatches in September, 1687, now returned to New
England, of which he had been named a counselor by the king. As the dominion
was enlarged by the annexation by the annexation of New York, Andros appointed
Palmer to be one of the judges of its Superior Court, along with Dudley, Stoughton,
and Bulkley."
