This
picture, taken in 1928, is of my father, Elbert (Albert); his sister,
Magdelena; and his twin brother, Delbert. The twins are just 4 years old!
|

Georgina
SATNAT VANGAMPELAERE eventually had 11 children. Here she is pictured with
her first child, Helena.

Albert
was stationed in Italy with the Air Force during World War II.

One
of the last photos taken of twins Delbert and Albert VANGAMPLEARE before
Delbert’s death in 1992. It was taken at Delbert and Bernadette’s 40th
wedding anniversary in Mason City, Iowa. Albert is holding Delbert’s
grandson, Stephen. He is the son of Mark and Patsy
VANGAMPLEARE.

Bari,
Italy (1945)
While stationed in Italy, Albert was on a baseball team – The Unbeaten
Ramblers – National League Champs. They had 20 wins without a defeat.
(Albert is pictured in the front row, first person on the left). |

Alphonse
(Pa) taking a moment from his busy schedule to proudly pose for a picture with
Delbert. Delbert was in the OSS (Operations of Strategic Service) during
the second World War. |

Russell
C. Price (husband to Yvonne VANGAMPLEARE) enlisted in the U.S. Navy before his 17th birthday (November
1942). His father had to sign papers so he could enter. His ship and crew
are on record for capturing the most prisoners during World War
II. |

their first pair of shorts to play basketball in.

enter Hiroshima after the bomb was dropped. |
1945
— This picture was taken on top of an 11-story building in Hiroshima
during World War II. It
was the only whole building that was still standing in the entire town.
The windows had all been blown out. The only excuse they knew for the
building to still be standing was it was the only marble building in the
town and it might have resistance from it. Gene VANGAMPLEARE is the person
on the left kneeling in front. |

In
October 1955, Vonie (VANGAMPLEARE) Price and her husband, Russell
Price went on a trip to Oregon, Washington, and California. One evening
they visited her Uncle Fred Satnat and his son, John. (Fred was a brother
to Georgina SATNAT VANGAMPELAERE, Vonie's mother.)

Approximately
1912 — No one can remember most of the individuals in this photo. The
only ones we do recognize are the little girl with the large bow standing
in the back row and the woman standing next to her holding the baby. The
girl appears to be Helena, age 4, and her mother, Georgina
SATNAT VANGAMPELAERE, holding Helena’s baby sister Magdelena (approx. 1
year).

Approx.
1912 Georgina SATNAT VANGAMPELAERE is the woman on the right. We are not sure
who the others are. They could be relatives of Georgina's or just friends.
Here they are pictured in their husband's outfits (with added stuffing so
the clothes would fit better) and pretending to drink beer. |
Georgina
is the woman on the right holding her baby daughter, Magdelena. We are not
sure who the others are. Whatever the event may be, all the photos appear
to have been taken on the same day. |
Above
are Georgina and Alphonse VANGAMPELAERE enjoying a day with family and
friends. |
