Hi, my name is Dixie
(VANGAMPLEARE) Gardner. I developed this website as a gift to my
father in the year 2000. It was right after I had spent an entire year
compiling a notebook of information and photos for him. Until recently, I
had almost forgotten about the website. It wasn’t until a young relative
had difficulty with one of the links that I decided to take some time to
update many of the items.
My grandfather, Alphonse VANGAMPELAERE (the original spelling of our
surname), came to America as a young man. He began our story here in Iowa.
What follows is just a small amount of the information I was able to
discover on my journey through our genealogy.
