My Brick Walls
These are the most difficult genealogy puzzles that I have been trying to solve involving some of my Schenectady, NY area ancestors. Take a look. Maybe you have the answers that I have been seeking.
#1: My great, great grandmother was Marietta Osborn/Osburn/Osborne, b. 1857, d. 1931. Her parents were Harmon Osborn and Sarah Ann Wildrick. I have found a Simon Wildrick who married Elisabeth Van Eps (b. 1801), daughter of Gerrit Van Eps and Sarah Henry. Does anyone know if Simon and Elisabeth were Sarah Ann's parents? I have also found a Jacob Willrich in the Glenville, Schenectady, NY 1880 Census. Is this Sarah Ann's brother? Where did these Wildricks or Willrichs come from?
#2: My great, great, great grandparents were Francis Osborn and Gertrude Van Antwerpen. Francis married a second time to Catharine ? after Gertrude's death. Who was Catherine? Francis' parents were William Osborn (b. 1768) and Annatie Henry (b. 1768) . William's parents were Francis Osborn/Osburn (b. ca 1743) and Agnes Van Antwerpen (b. 1747), Gertrude's great aunt. Who were Francis Osborn's parent's and how did he come to the Schenectady area?
#3: Alfred Van Epps (b. 1860, d. 1908), my great, great grandfather was married to Catherine Collins. Catherine's sister, Sarah Collins was married to Alfred's brother Walter Van Epps. The Collin's sisters parents were William G. Collins and Anna Kirby of Charlton, Saratoga, NY. Both immigrated to the US in the mid-1800's from Ireland. Anna Kirby's parents were James Kirby and Mary Leahy, who also resided in Charlton. William Collins' parents were Richard Collins and Mary ?. Any info about the origin of these families would be appreciated.
#4: Laurens Van Eps (b. 1814, d. 1868) was married to Sarah Ann Robbins (d. 1890) on Apr. 19, 1832. Her father was David Robbins or Robins (b. 1788) and her mother was Elizabeth Lansing. Who were David's parents and when did he come to the Schenectady area? Is he related to the Berne, Albany, NY Robins family or to the Stillwater, Saratoga, NY Robens family or neither? Who knows?
#5: Lourens Van Eps (b.1748) married Margarita Folmer. Margarita's brother, Johannes also lived in the Schenectady Area. I believe her father was Johannes Fulmer who resided in Halfmoon, Saratoga, NY. I have been told that Folmer can also be spelled Follmer, Fulmar, Vollmer or Vollmar. Any info this family's origin would be appreciated.
#6: Jacobus Van Eps (b. 1774, d. 1827) married Elizabeth Henry. Her parents were Elizabeth Van Vorst and John Henry. Who were John Henry's parents and when did he come to the Schenectady, NY area?
#7: Jannetje Van Eps (b. 1798) married Henry Bulman. Henry's parents were Christopher Bulman and Betsey Dibble. I have been told that the Bulmans were from Connecticut and lived in Schoharie County. I have no info about Betsey or the Dibble family. The surname is also spelled Bullman, Bulmore and Bullmore in area records. Any info regarding these Bulman's or Dibble's would be appreciated.
#8: Petrus/ Pieter Van Slyck married Angelica Ericson Aug. 30, 1734 in Schenectady, NY. One source says that Angelica's father was Reinhardt Erichson the Domine. Who was her mother? Is it Maria Provoost? Where did this family originate?
#9: Sarah Van Antwerpen married Alexander C. Lansing. I believe her parents are probably Harmanus Van Antwerpen (b. 1703) and Neelitje Van Antwerpen (b. 1710) but haven't found any data to prove so. Can anyone give me a source that proves or disproves my theory?
