The Old Burying Ground
Just within the border line of Cradock is an old burying ground. It is just beyond the playground of the Cradock School and its approach is from, what would be, Aylwin Road, now just "wheel tracks."
Apparently it was the "God's Acre" of the plantation of the Barclay family. No traces of the old plantation remain. There are aout twelve graves, most of them marked by fine white marble head and foot stones, giving the names, birth and death dates and, as was customary in those days, an "epitaph."

Farewell, Farewell, our dearest child,
Of manners bland and temper mild.
Too gentle, thee, to live on earth,
God called thee home to heaven's mirth.
There with the Angels to join and sing,
Praises to your Almighty King.
