Miss Josephine
Ochs, 82, Dies
Miss Josephine Ochs, 82, 1513 Croghan street, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday in Memorial hospital where she was admitted Thurs­day. She had been in failing health for 10 years.
A lifelong resident of Fremont, she was born March 4, 1876, daughter of the late Berthold and Mary Koch Ochs. Miss Ochs was a clerk for nearly 50 years in the former R. L. Amey and Sons store. She was a member of St. Joseph church and the Rosary Society.
She is survived by sisters. Miss Amelia. at home, and Mrs. Jo­seph (Helen) Schwinger, Fremont, and a brother, A! H., Fremont. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles, and three sisters, Miss Clara Ochs, Mrs. John (Ann) Setzler and Mrs. Ad-am (Rose) Werner.
The Right Rev. J. S. Arnoldi will conduct a Requiem Mass at 10 a. in Thursday in St. Joseph church. Burial will be in St. Jo­seph cemetery.
Friends may call at the Ochs funeral home beginning Tuesday afternoon.


Miss Josephine Ochs
Monsignor J. S Arnoldi conduct­ed a Requiem Mass at 9.10 a. m.. Thursday for Miss Josephine Ochs, 82 1511 Croghan street. in St. Joseph church. Miss Ochs was a former clerk in the R. L. Amey and Sons store. She died in
Memorial hospital after several years of failing health.
The Right Rey. Arnoldi also conducted graveside rites in the parish cemetery with the Ochs funeral home in charge.
Pallbearers were Herman Sny­der. Robert Werner, Ralph Setzler. Michael Fey, Wilbur Koch and Carl Mehling.

Victim Of Fall, Infirmities Of
Advanced Age

A fall in the basement of his home and infirmities of age caused the death at 9:20 p.m. Monday of Andrew Koch, 96, a Sandusky county native and former Riley township, trustee. Death occurred in Memorial hospital.
Mr. Koch, who resided with, a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Mosser of 1535 Garrison Street, for the last three and one-half years, received a broken collarbone when he fell down the basement steps at 12:30 a.m. yesterday.
The aged man retired as a farmer in 1923. He was the last of a family of six sisters and one brother.
Mr. Koch belonged to St. Joseph's church and was a member of the Rosary and Holy Name so His wife, the former Eliza Binsack, whom he married May 7, 1877 died January 12 1926.
He was born August 4, 1853, the son of the late Valentine and Barbara Peifer Koch. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Mosser, with whom he made his home, and three sons, Urban C. Koch of Fremont, Henry C. Koch of Clyde, and Louis F. Koch of Vickery. Sixteen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 9:3.0 a. m. Thursday in St. Joseph's church, with Msgr. James Arnoldi officiating. Burial will be in St. Jo cemetery.
The body has been removed to he Ochs funeral home where friends may call.

Andrew married Elizabeth BINSACK, daughter of J. Adam BINSACK and Magdalena GABEL, on 7 May 1878. Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew Koch, 71, who died late Tuesday afternoon at her home at 1516 West Garrison street will be held at 9 o'clock , Friday morning in St. Joseph's church with the Rev. Fr. Waechter officiating. interment will be made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Mrs. Koch is survived by her husband, four children, Mrs. Joseph Mosser, Urban Koch, Henry Koch and Louis Koch, all of Fremont; three sisters, two brothers and 16 grandchildren. The sisters are; Miss Clara Binsack, Mrs. Leonard Schneider and Mrs. A. Halbeisan of Fremont. Henry Binsack of Monroville and Frank Binsack are the surviving brothers.
Miss Elizabeth Binsack was born in Fremont Nov. 25, 1854, the daughter of Adam and Magdalene Binsack. She was united in marriage to Andrew Koch May 7, 1878, the ceremony taking place in the old St. Josephs church of which Mrs. Koch had all her life been, a faithful member. Five children were
born to this union, one of whom, Valentine Koch died several years ago. Shortly after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Koch moved to a farm in Riley township where they resided until two years ago when they moved to Fremont.
Mrs. Koch bad been ill only a few
days, taking to her bed Saturday suffering with a complication on pleurisy and pneumonia. Her condition was very serious from the inception of her illness and her death is a severe shock to her large circle of relatives and friends. Mrs. Koch was a member of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacred Heart; Poor Soul's League and of the Rosary Society.
A lifelong resident of Fremont and the county, Mrs. Koch was one the best known and most highly respected and esteemed pioneer women of the section, loved not only in her circle, but in the church and other circles where she had so long been active. She leaves a large number of warm friends and to mourn her death..

Josephine Meyer
Josephine Meyer, 81, 118 N. Prospect St., died Sunday at 11:30 p.m. in the Sandusky Coun­ty Home. She had been a housekeeper.
Miss Meyer was born January 21, 1891, in Riley Township, daughter of Ambrose and Anne Koch Meyer.
Surviving are sisters, Florence Meyer and Mrs. Rosalind Binder, Prospect Street; a niece, Rebecca Binder, Prospect Street; and a nephew, Daniel, Joliet, Ill.
Miss Meyer was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Florence Meyer
Florence M. Meyer, 82, formerly of 118 N. Prospect St., died at the Countryside Continuing Care Center at 11:15 p.m. Monday.
She was born Sept. 15, 1895, in Riley Township to Ambrose and Anne (Koch) Meyer. She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Surviving are a sister Rosalind Binder of 118 N. Prospect, a niece, a nephew, a great-niece and a great-nephew.
Miss Meyer had worked for the W.V.B. Ames Dental Supply, Miller and Jones Shoe Store and Lee's Shoe Store where she was working when she retired in 1968.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a member, and burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be a Vigil Service 8:30 Wednesday, at the Weller Wonderly Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Clare Mary Ochs, 91, formerly of 1714 Buckland Ave., died Friday at Quality Care Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 7, 1903, in Fremont to Charles and Clare Ida (Hodes) Ochs.
She was a retired clerk at Woolworth's and Cato's. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Marian Society and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
Surviving are nieces and nephews. Brothers Charles and Cletus Ochs and sister Agnes LeJeune are deceased.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p-m. Sunday at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Miss Setzler was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Rosary Society.
Surviving are a brother, Herman, Fremont, and one sister, Miss Marguerite Setzler, a patient at Villa Marie Nursing Home, Green Springs. Two brothers, Norbert and Ralph are deceased.
Friends will be received at the Ochs Funeral Home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Funeral Mass for Angela M. Setzler, 77, 118 S. Jefferson St., was offered Wednesday in St. Joseph Church by Father Russell Gillig. Burial was in the Parish Cemetery with the Ochs Funeral Home in charge.
Miss Setzler died Sunday night in the Hospital of the Medical College of Ohio. She had been employed in the office of the S. E. Hyman Co. before retiring.
Pallbearers were David Snyder, Michael Golamb and Dennis, William. Richard and John Setzler.

Joseph M. Schwinger
Joseph M. Schwinger, 90, 1130 Croghan street, Fremont building contractor for 60 years, died Thursday at 2 a.m. at his home. He had been ill seven weeks.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen V. Ochs, whom he married November 23, 1911; one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Mary) Fey; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A son, Joseph B., one grandchild, two sisters and five brothers are deceased.
Mr. Schwinger was born August 13, 1881, in Jackson township, son of John and Mary Schwinger.
A member of St. Joseph church, Mr. Schwinger was an usher there for many years. He was also a charter member of the St. Joseph cemetery board and remained a member until his death. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society, Legion of Mary and the Knights of Columbus.
Friends may call at the Ochs funeral home beginning Thur­sday at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be offered Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church with burial in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Schwinger, a Fremont building contractor for 60 years, died early Thursday at his home.
Pallbearers were Herman Krauss, George Geyman, Ray Aspden, Herman Setzler, Thomas Fey and Joseph Schwinger.

Alphonse Ochs Taken By Death
Alphonse H. Ochs, 72, lifelong Fremont resident, died unexpect­edly of a heart attack at 6:30 p.m. Monday at his home at 1704; Croghan street.
In the grocery trade here for more than 50 years, he was em­ployed for 10 years at the Herbrand Corporation retiring seven years ago.
Requiem high Mass will be of­fered in St. Joseph's church by the Rt. Rev. Monsignor J. S. Ar­noldi at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be in St. Joseph cemetery. A member of St. Joseph's church, Mr. Ochs belonged to the Rosary Society.
He was born May 26, 1886, a son of the late Berthold and Mary Koch Ochs. His marriage to the former Ida Giebel took place in 1911 in St. Mary's church, Elyria.
Surviving with Mrs. Ochs are t hree daughters, Mrs. Carl l (Mary Frances) Mehling, Mrs. Paul (Jane) Haslinger and Mrs. Donald (Rita) Molyet, all of Fremont; nine grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Schwing­er and Miss Emelia Ochs, of Fre­mont.
Mr . Ochs was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters. Mrs. Adam (Rose) Werner, Mrs. John (Anna) Setzler, Misses Clara and Josephine Ochs, and a brother, Charles, all of Fremont. Friends may call at the Ochs funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Ida Rose Ochs
Mrs. Ida Rose Ochs, 84, 1704 Croghan St., died Saturday afternoon in the Quality Care Nursing Home, Second Street, after an illness of several years. Mrs. Ochs was the widow of Alphonse Ochs, who died on March 6, 1959.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Carl (Mary Francis) Mehling, Delaware, Ohio; Mrs. Paul (Jane) Haslinger and Mrs. Donald (Rita) Molyet, both of Fremont; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
A member of St. Joseph Church. Mrs. Ochs also was a member of the Rosary Society. Legion of Mary, Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament and the St. Francis of Oak Ridge Guild.
Friends may call at the Ochs Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited Monday at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection wilt be offered Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church with burial in the parish cemetery.

A Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Ida Rose Ochs, 84, 170, Croghan St., was concelebrated Tuesday in St. Joseph Church b3 a grandson, the Rev. Philip Haslinger, and Father Russell Gillig. Burial was in the parish cemetery with the Ochs funeral home in charge.
Mrs. Ochs died Saturday in the Quality Care Nursing Home, Second Street, after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Alphonse Ochs who died in 1959.

Widow Of Joseph Mosser Is Dead

Mrs. Gertrude Mosser, 78, of 1335 west Garrison street, died unexpectedly early Sunday morning in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Carl Burke!, Sandusky. Mrs. Mosser had gone to Sandusky Saturday evening to attend the First Communion Mass Sunday of a grandson. She died at 2:30 a.m., shortly after suffering a coronary attack.
Mrs. Mosser. under treatment for a heart ailment, was the widow of Joseph Mosser who was killed in an automobile accident September 24, 1949.
Requiem Mass will be offered in St. .Joseph's church Wednesday at 10 a.m. and burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery. Friends may call at the 0chs funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday.

Born in Riley township October 10, 1879, Mrs. Mosser was a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Binsack Koch. She was married to Joseph Mosser May 6. 1901 in St. Joseph's church, the Rev. Dr. Seraphin Bauer officiating.
A member of St. Joseph parish, she belonged to the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, the Rosary Society, the Legion of Mary and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

She was born in Fremont to Joseph and Gertrude (Koch) Mosser, she is survived by many nieces and nephews and preced­ed, along with her parents, by brothers Edward, Bernard, Paul and Richard Mosser and sisters Imelda Kreilick, Delphine Burkel, Margaret Mosser, Genevieve McCormick and Anna Rose Godfred.

Henry C. Koch
CLYDE, O.-- Henry Charles Koch 74, 165 Nelson street died unexpectedly at his home Friday morning. He was a lifetime resident in the area, a retired farmer and cutlery worker and in later years a guard at Whirlpool Corporation.
Born in Riley township, March 30, 1886, he was the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Binsack Koch. His wife, Barbara Mundy, whom he married in 1911, died in 1943. A daughter, Eleanor, is also deceased.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Rudolph (Margaret) Sanderson, Sandusky, and Mrs. Clarence (Dorothy) Thomson, Fremont; five grandchildren, and a brother, Louis Koch of Vickery.
Mr. Koch was a member of St. Mary's church and Clyde Eagles. Friends may call at the Mitchell funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
A Requiem Mass will be of in St. Mary's church with the Rev. Father Sylvester Schmelzer, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Time

Mrs. H. C. Koch Died Thursday
At Home South of Town.
Funeral services were held on Monday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Mrs. Barbara Mundy Koch, wife of Henry C. Koch who passed on at her home near Conley's Corners at 10:30 on Thursday evening. Mrs. Koch had been in failing health for six months. Six weeks ago she entered Memorial Hospital at Fremont for treatment, returning home from there May 22.
The Rev. Leo J. Donahoe conducted the services Monday, and burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery.
Mrs. Koch was a native of the section in which she died. A daughter of Edward J. and Bertha Hartman Mundy, she was born Nov. 27, 1888. Her early education she received in the country schools. Later she attended Clyde High School and was graduated from Sandusky Business College on April 13, 1908.
On Jan. 16, 1912, she was married to Henry C. Koch of Vickery in St. Mary's church, and their married life was spent in this vicinity. Four children were born to them, a son who died in infancy and three daughters, Eleanor of Toledo, Margaret of Sandusky and Dorothy at home.
Mrs. Koch was a member of the Altar and Rosary Socciety and of The League of the Sacred Heart of the church.
Her husband, her three daughters, and a brother Lawrence M. Mundy of Lakewood survive.

Cletus I. Ochs
Cletus I. Ochs, 67, 213 north Wood street, died Saturday at 11:45 p.m, in Memorial hospi­tal of burns apparently suffered following a stroke. A match used in lighting a cigar is believed to have ignited his clothing. He had been a partial invalid following a stroke 10 years ago.
Mr. Ochs was a retired office manager and bookkeeper for the H & M bakery. He was a mem­ber of St. Joseph's church, its Holy Name and Rosary societies and the Elks lodge.
Born August 13, 1897 in Fremont, he was the son of the late Charles and Clara Hodes Ochs. His wife, the former Mildred Steinle, died in 1955.
Surviving are a daughter. Mrs Harry (Jeannette) Gottron, Jr., sisters, Mrs. Ed LeJeune and Miss Clara Mary Ochs, all of Fremont. A brother, Charles, also preceded him in death. There are three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Ochs funeral home. A Requiem Mass will be offered Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's church with burial to be in the parish ceme­tery.

A Requiem Mass for Cletus I. Ochs, 67, 213 north Wood street, was offered Tuesday by Father Joseph Vamos in St. Joseph's church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. R. J. Gabel, Tiffin, and Father Aloys Horn were in the sanctu­ary.
Burial was in the parish cem­etery with the Ochs funeral home in charge.
Pallbearers were Raymond Celek. Emil Schnurr, Carl Meh­ling Jr. and Ambrose Gabel.
Mr. Ochs died Saturday in Memorial hospital after being enveloped in flames when his clothing caught fire. He had been a partial invalid since suf­fering a stroke about 10 years

Agnes J. LeJeune, 90, 1714 Buckland Ave., died Sunday af­ternoon in her home.
She was born in Fremont to Charles and Clara Ida (Hodes) Ochs. She married Edward J. LeJeune Aug. 24, 1926. He died April 22, 1967. Surviving are one son, Edward J. LeJeune of Fremont; one daughter, Barbara A. Halbeisen, of Fremont; one sis­ter, Clara Mary Ochs, of Fre­mont; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: one daughter, Clara C. Gabel, and two brothers, Charles and Cletus Ochs.
She was a sales clerk for the Newberry and Woolworth com­panies and the Hobby Center, all in Fremont. She retired in 1972. She was a member of St. Jo­seph's Catholic Church and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in the church. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home.
A wake service will be Tues­day at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Edward G. LeJeune, 72, 1714 Buckland avenue, retired grocer and meat cutter, died Thursday at 7:50 p.m. shortly after being taken to Memorial hospital by ambulance. He had been seri­ously ill since Easter.
Mr. LeJeune had disposed of his business and then came out of retirement to work part time as a meat cutter at the Schwartz grocery on Croghan street until his illness.
Surviving are his wife, the former Agnes J. Ochs, whom he married August 24, 1927; son, Edward J., Fremont; daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Clare) Gabel, Canton, and Mrs. Howard (Barbara) Halbeisen, Fremont; sisters. Mrs. O. P. Courtney and Mrs. Frank Baker. both of Fremont, and 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Fred and Father Carl LeJeune C. P. P. S., and half-brothers. Alphonse and Francis LeJeune.
Mr. Le Jeune was a member 'of St. Joseph's church, the Holy Name Society, Immaculate Heart of Mary and the St. Joseph's Booster club. He was a member of the Moose lodge and served as secretary of the Moose Bowling league for many years. Mr. LeJeune was a veteran of World War I.
Mr. LeJeune was born Octo­ber 26, 1894 in Sandusky county, the son of Michael and Caroline Weltin LeJeune.

Joseph B. Schwinger Jr., 55, 201 north Wayne street, died early Wednesday at his home following an extended illness. He had been critical for five weeks.
The lifelong resident of Fre­mont was born December 28, 1913, son of Joseph and Helen Ochs Schwinger.
Mr. Schwinger was a contrac­tor for his father and he had also been employed by the How­ard Zink Corporation before his illness.
Member of St. Joseph's church, he was also a member of the Holy Name and Rosary Societies and the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife, the former Gertrude Schwartz, whom he married April 12, 1937 in St. Joseph's church; sons, Joseph L., Detroit, and Martin, Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Terrence (Jeannie) Miesle. Cincin­nati; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Schwinger Sr., 1130 Croghan street, and a sister, Mrs. E. Michael (Mary) Fey. Fremont. There are two grand-children.
The family will be at the Ochs funeral home to receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:30 p.m

Gertrude V. Schwinger, 73, of 201 N. Wayne St., died Monday morning in Fremont's Memorial Hospital.
Born in Fremont April 2, 1913, to Louis and Margaret (Reineck) Schwartz, she married Jospeh B. Schwinger on April 12, 1937.
She was a member of St. Jo­seph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, St. Francis Villa Board and active with Our Lady of the Pines.
Surviving are sons. Joseph L.. Grand Ledge, Mich. and Martin of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Jeanne Miesle, Cincinnati; three grandchildren; and brothers, Richard and Carl, Fremont. She was preceded by her husband on Sept. 3, 1969 and five brothers.

Florence M. Chudzinski, 90, of Birchard Avenue, Fremont, died Friday morning at her home, two days short of her 91st birthday. She was born in Fremont to the now-deceased George A. and Clara (Mehling) Geller. Florence married James Chudzinski Nov. 14, 1938 and he died July 13, 1974. Florence worked for the Liberty National Bank for over 43 years, retiring as vice president and cashier. She was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a member of the Ohio Banker's Association. Funeral services for James J. Chudzinski, 61, 314 S. Washington St., will be from St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Ochs Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today. The family asks that memorials be given to the St. Joseph Church Flower Fund.
Mr. Chudzinski died Saturday morning at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo. He had been hospitalized since June 2. A native of Fremont, he was born April 4, 1913, to the late Frank X. and Mary C. (Schoeman) Chudzinski. He married Florence Geller at St. Joseph Church on Nov. 12, 1938.
Mr. Chudzinski was a retired administrative assistant for the Ohio Turnpike Commission. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Rosary Society, the Holy Name Society, the Elks and the Fremont Country Club. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his widow; one brother, Edward F., Lorain, and one sister, Mrs. Louis (Mary K.) Fiegelist, Fremont. Two brothers are deceased.

Edwin G. Geller
Edwin G. (Ed) Geller, 46 ,1821 Arthur street, accountant for the Spieldenner garage, died Wednesday at 10:35 p.m. in Me­morial hospital.
Mr. Geller became ill while attending a St. Joseph Parent-Teacher Association meeting and went to his home. A physi­cian was called and Mr. Geller was removed to the hospital where he died an hour later.
Active in civic affairs, Mr. Geller campaigned actively for many years as a member of the Citizens For Decent Literature organization. He was a member of St. Joseph's church, its Ros­ary and Holy Name Societies, Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary, St. Joseph's Booster Club and the Christian Family Move­ment. He was a member of the Fremont Yacht Club, He was also a member of the American Legion having served in World War II in the European theater with the Army for three years.
Mr. Geller had been employed by Spieldenner's since 1961. He had been previously employed at the former Ochs Furniture Store, the Valley Dairy and before entering service had been, employed in the advertising and circulation departments of The Fremont News-Messenger.
Born June 16, 1919 in Fre­mont, he was the son of the late George and Clara Mehling Geller.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eileen Hoffman, whom he married October 9, 1943 in Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters, Elaine, student nurse at Toledo Mercy hospital, and Constance, senior at St. Joseph high school, and one son, James, in the fourth grade at St. Joseph ele­mentary school; one brother, Francis (Bud) Geller, Fremont; sisters, Mrs. James (Florence) Chudzinski, Fremont, and Mrs. Regina O'Shea, Binghampton, N.Y.
Friends may call at the Ochs funeral home beginning Thurs­day at 7 p.m. The Rosary will be recited there Friday by St. Joseph's Holy Name Society.

Eileen E. Geller, 84, of Fre­mont died Sunday at Bethesda Care Center.
She was born in Fremont to the now-deceased Leo and Magda­lene (Jenk) Hoffman. On Oct. 9, 1943, she married Edwin G. Geller and he died Sept. 29. 1965.
Eileen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Friend­ly Singles and was past president of the Marian Society. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross.
Most of her life she was a homemaker, but was also a book-keeper for Smiley Tire.
She is survived by daughters Elaine (Bernie) Malinowski of Fre­mont and Connie (Philip) Dirig of Orland, Ind.; son Jim Geller of San-dusky; grandchildren Lisa Keys. Amy Sanchez and Steven. James and Robert Dirig: brothers Ralph ( Loretta) Hoffman of Fremont and Harold Hoffman of Sandusky; and sister Louise (Jim) Freeh of San-dusky. Preceding her are brothers Lawrence. Bernarde and Richard Hoffman, sisters Mary Catherine Hoffman and two in infancy.

Andrew J. Koch, 82, 206 S. Wood St., died Saturday at his home.
Born in Riley Township to Val­entine and Hattie (Reinick) Koch, he married Ruth A. Gabel May 21, 1934 in St. Joseph Catho­lic Church. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Ruth Ann Eder of Houston, Texas; a son, Dr. Kenneth Koch of Camarillo,
Calif.; sister, Sister Mary Claranne, SND, of Toledo; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Three sisters, Angela Spielden­ner, Frances Koch, and Agnes Koch died before him.
Mr. Koch was the Fremont City treasurer for 10 years, and served two years as the city au­ditor. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and served three years on St. Jo­seph's church council and build­ing committee. He was also a past president of the Fremont Lions Club, a member of the Fremont Country Club and was its treasurer for 20 years.
He was a 1925 graduate of St. Joseph Central Catholic High School, and retired in 1972 as vice president and cashier of the Fremont Savings Bank. After his retirement he sold real estate for Sun Mart Realty.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the church, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Kel­ler-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Central Catholic High School.

She was born in Fremont to Edward and Clara (Busold) Gabel. On May 21, 1934, she married Andrew J. Koch and he preceded her on Sept. 16, 1989.
Mrs. Koch, a homemaker, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, the Fremont Federation of Women, Fremont Country Club, was on the Women's Board of St. Francis Health Care Centre Guild of Green Springs and was a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a 1924 graduate of St. Joseph High School and attended Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio.
She was past president of the St. Joseph PTO and had taught in the Fostoria School system prior to her marriage.
Survivors include daughter Ruth Ann Eder of Houston, Texas; son Dr. Kenneth Koch of Camaril Calif.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren: and two brothers Herbert Gabel of Fre and Donald Gabel of Rockford. Ohio.

Wilbur J. "Bill" Koch, 80, 159 Thomas Drive, died Thursday evening in St. Francis Rehabilitation Hospital and Nursing Home, Green Springs.
Born in Fremont to Urban and Delphine (Reineck) Koch, he married Mildred Besanceney Nov. 7, 1936. She died Aug. 4, 1960. He then married Janet Hal­beisen Halm June 9, 1967. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Carol Park of Fremont; son, Larry of Fremont; stepdaugh­ters, Judy Youster of Oregon, Pam Lister of Atlanta, Ga. and Mary Lynn Hart of Northbo­rough, Mass.; stepson, Thomas Halm of Sylvania; eight grand­children, 13 stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren; a sis­ter, Mary Szymanowski of Fre­mont; and a brother, Norbert U. of Fremont. One grandson also died before him.
Mr. Koch had been employed 44 years at the former Tony's Bakery. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Third and Fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus, and served one term on Fremont City Council.

Mrs. Mildred R. Koch, 49, wife of Wilbur Koch, 1706 Birchard avenue, died Thursday at 10:30 p.m. enroute to Memorial hospital in an Ochs ambulance driven by her son, Lawrence.
Mrs. Koch fell from a ladder at the home of her mother, Mrs.. Veronica Besanceney, 716 Napoleon street. Death was due to a heart attack.
Resident of Fremont for 23 years, she was employed as a bookkeeper at the Northern Ohio Sugar Co. for 12 years.
Mrs. Koch was a member of St. Joseph's church, the Confraternity (Division 7), The Rosary Society, the St. Polycarp Study Club and the Daughters of Isabella. Born in Lima May 12, 1911, she was the daughter of Louis and Veronica Besanceney. She was married November 7, 1936.
Surviving with the husband are a daughter, Mrs. James (Carol) Park, a registered nurse in the surgical department at Memorial hospital, and the son, Lawrence, at home; her mother; one brother, Father Paul, S.J., Ann Arbor, Mich., and a sister, Mrs.. Harry (Dorothy) Kledzik. Fremont. Her father, a brother, Donald and a sister, Jean, are deceased.
Friends may call at the Ochs funeral home Friday after 7:30 p.m. A Solemn Requiem High Mass will be offered Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph church with burial to be in the parish cemetery.


Koch Funeral
Services were held Monday at 9:30 a.m. for Mrs. Mildred R. Koch, 49, wife of Wilbur Koch, Birchard avenue. She died Thursday enroute to Memorial hospital.
Her brother. Father Paul Besanceney, S.J., was celebrant for the Solemn Requiem Mass with Father John Schill, S.J., deacon, assisting with services in St. Joseph's church. Father Edward Lichtle was sub-dean and gave the sermon.
Burial was made in the parish cemetery by Ochs funeral home. Pallbearers were Gerald Swint, Al Steinle, Paul Kledzik, Frank Bogley, Michael Driscoll and Ernest Buehrer.

Virginia Koch
CLYDE — Virginia C. Koch, 67, died Sunday afternoon in St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. She had been in failing health the last three months.
Mrs. Koch was a homemaker and resided at 221 S. Church St.
She was born in Rocky Ridge, Ohio, Feb. 1, 1917, a daughter of Paul and Alvina (Wagner) Kan­neman. She married LaMar U. Koch, Feb. 7, 1953. He died Oct. 27, 1971. A daughter, a brother and three sisters also died previ­ously.
Surviving are sons, Michael and Timothy St. John, both of Clyde; and Daniel St. John of Cleveland; a daughter, Cindi Camarata, Troy, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, David, Paul and John Kanneman of Toledo; Mort of Crissey, Ohio; and a sister, Mickie Tomanicek, Perrysburg.
Mrs. Koch was a member of Sa­cred Heart Catholic Church and a graduate of Waite High School in Toledo.
The funeral is set for noon Wednesday in the church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 to-night and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Keller-Ochs-Koch Fu­neral Home where a vigil service will be conducted at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Jeannette A. Gottron, 68, of Birchard Avenue, died Saturday at St. Vincent Medical Center.
She was born in Fremont to Cletus I. and Mildred (Steinle) Ochs. She married Harry P. Got­tron Jr. on June 24, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He sur­vives.
Mrs. Gottron graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1944 and St. Vincent School of Nurs­ing. She worked as a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital.
She was a homemaker and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile and the Hayes Presidential Center.
She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Confraterni­ty, the Altar Rosary Society and the Ladies Elks.
Also surviving are sons Harry P. Gottron III of California and Jon A. Gottron of Napoleon, daughter Carol A. Bell of Louisiana and two grandchil­dren. Her parents are deceased.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial is at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wonderly-Hor­vath Funeral home with vigil ser­vices at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the church and St. Vincent School of Nursing.

James A. Park

Nov. 2, 1938 - July 18, 2001

James A. Park, 62, 1241 W. State St., died Wednesday at Toledo Hospital.
He was born in Fremont to Wilson and Lucy (Widman) Park and graduated from St. Wendelin High School in 1956. He married Carol A. Koch on April 23, 1960, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and she survives.
Mr. Park worked at Mennel Milling Co. in Fostoria and Roanoke Va., for 20 years. While living in Aiken, S.C., he had also worked at Johnston Flour Mill in Johnston, S.C., for five years. He worked for the City of Fremont for nine years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Fostoria Knights of Columbus.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter Roseanne Reed of Aiken; sons Steve of Fremont, Matt, Dave and Joe, all of Aiken, and Mike of Jessup, Md.; five grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth Zeyen of Fostoria and Mary Jane Reddling of Toledo; and brothers William of Parma, Robert and Richard of Fostoria and Jack of Toledo. He is preceded by his parents, son Christopher and sister Carol Park.
Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home. Wake services: 3:30 p.m.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Private gradeside services for Christopher James Park, infant son of James and Carol Koch Park. 716 1/2 Napoleon street, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's cemetery with the Ochs funeral home in charge.
The child, born Tuesday night in Memorial hospital, died Thursday at 9 a.m. Death was due to prematurity.
