Ushers on the Railroad/Railways (depending on the version of English you speak)

Tom Fitzsimmons is on the track of George E. USHER who worked on the railroad. George married Georgena T. FITZSIMMONS, born in Lawler, Chickasaw County, Iowa in 1875. George E. USHER also had a brother Eugene USHER who also worked on the railroad. So far Tom has found the following census records, can anyone else help with further information?

1870 U.S. Census, Wisconsin, Subdivision No. 8, City of Milwaukee.
William Usher, age 25, works on the railroad, born Wisconsin, both parents foreign born;
Mary Sullivan, age 19, housekeeper, born Massachusetts, both parents foreign born;
John Usher, 6/12 years old, born Wisconsin.

Notes: The entry is a little puzzling, showing William on his own line as family No. 52, then Mary on the next line in dwelling 48. I don't know if this means a mistaken entry, or that Mary was an unmarried mother of William's son, John, or maybe that Sullivan was Mary's maiden name.

1880 U.S. Census, Iows, Cerro Gordo County, Mason City,
Family History Library Film 1254331, NA film No. T9-0331, page 270B.
William B. Usher, head, age 33, born Wisconsin, father born England, mother born Canada, R.R. conductor;
Mary, wife, age 29, born Wisconsin, parents both born Ireland;
Willie, son, age 10, born Wisconsin;
Eugene, son, age 8, born Wisconsin;
George, son age 6, born Wisconsin;
Charles, son age 4, born Wisconsin.

Notes: I think one of the Ushers on the Utah page is this same William Usher, father of George E. Usher. "Utah Directory, 1890: Salt Lake City, Logan, and Provo
