JOHN LINK (Matthias2, John Jacob1) was born January 20, 1777, in Frederick County, Maryland, and died July 31, 1851, in Greene County, Tennessee. He married (1) Mary (Polly) USHER, October 31, 1805, Augusta County, Virginia. Her birth date and the names of her parents are unknown. She died January 26, 1807, and is buried in the Link family plot on Matthias Link's farm near Fort Defiance, Virginia. (2) Barbara Harnsbarger, daughter of Henry Harnsbarger, in Rockingham County, Virginia, June 6, 1809. The ceremony was performed by Reverend John Brown (Page 39, Wayland's Valley of Virginia Records). Barbara Link died July 22, 1875, in Rush County, Indiana, and is buried in East Hill Cemetery, Rushville, Indiana. John Link raised a company of militia for the War of 1812 and was commissioned captain.
