Obituary: SHIPPENSBURG Elizabeth D. Strayer, 75, of 119 S. Fayette St.
died Wednesday at home.
She retired from U-Wanna-Wash Frock Co., formerly of Shippensburg; was a member
of Memorial Lutheran Church; a charter member of Newburg Rebekah Lodge 100; and
a life member of VFW Auxiliary Unit 6168 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 223.
She was the widow of Herbert A. Strayer. Surviving are two sons, Herbert A.
Sommerville of Shippensburg and George D. Strayer Sr. of Newburg; four
daughters, Cathy Mohler and Ann Gaver, both of Scotland, Pa., and Karin Mathna
and Lisa Gutshall, both of Shippensburg; a brother, Harry USHER
of Taunton, England; a sister, Catherine Eales of Bath, England; nine
grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and seven
step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Cleversburg Cemetery, Southampton Twp.
Viewing will be from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions May be made to her church, 34 E. Orange St., Shippensburg
17257, or Salvation Army, 159 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg 17201.
