Riverside Eleanor USHER
Services have been held for Eleanor Mullan USHER, 86,
who died Jan. 20 of cancer at her home in Riverside.
Burial was in Riverside National Cemetery.
Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary in Riverside handled arrangements.
Mrs. USHER, who was born in Tell City, Ind., lived in
Riverside six years. She graduated from the Designers' Art School of Boston.
She was a private school teacher.
Mrs. USHER was a member of the Business and
Professional Women's Club and was formerly on the board of directors of the YWCA
in Washington, D. C. She also founded the Newcomers Club in Washington, D. C.
for U. S. Public Health Service officers and their families.
She was an accomplished painist and enjoyed attending concerts.
Mrs. USHER is survived by her husband, Glenn; a son,
Raymond of Lighthouse Point, Fla.; a daughter, Carolyn Moller of Napa; five
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Obituary: Lillian Florence USHER, 85, died
Wednesday at Meadowbrook Convalescent Hospital in Hemet. The cause of death is
pending a doctor's report. Interment will be in South Maple Ridge Cemetery in
Stanchfield, Minn. Hemet Valley Mortuary is handling cremation arrangements.
Mrs. USHER, who was born in Wyonett Township, Minn.,
lived in Hemet for four years. She was a sorter for a Salvation Army Thrift Shop
for 16 years. She enjoyed gardening, writing letters and dancing.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Nichols of Hemet, Joy Ramirez of
Sandy, Ore., and Delores Stark of St. Peter, Minn.; three sons, Duane of
Columbia Heights, Minn., and Gordon and David, both of Gresham, Ore.; 16
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and, three great-great-grandchildren.

Obituary: USHER -- Catherine Ellen, 90, passed
away Feb. 13, 1999 in Chula Vista, CA. She was born in Vermont on Feb. 8, 1909.
She has been a resident of Chula Vista and San Diego area the past 30 yrs. She
was a Food Server for Child's Restaurant for 10 yrs. She is survived by
brother-in-law, Paul M. USHER of Hot Springs, AR,
sisters-in-law, Lumilla Jenkins of Las Vegas, NV and Agnes Gegg of Ithaca, NY.
She also leaves behind many nieces & nephews. A Memorial Service will be
held Thurs. Feb. 18, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at Humphrey Mortuary Chapel
& Concludes. Her cremains will be scattered at sea privately.

Obituary: Thomas F. USHER, 88, cabinetmaker and
former field superintendent for a construction company, died Thursday in his La
Mesa home.
He had lived in the county 52 years and was active in his church and in Knights
of Columbus.
Memorial Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. today in St. John of the Cross Catholic
Church in Lemon Grove, where Mr. USHER was an active
member. Private inurnment is planned.
Mr. USHER was a native of St. Louis. His father died
when Thomas USHER was in his early teens, and he went
to work to help support the family. He and Ruth Hukenbeck were married in St.
Louis in 1932. They settled in San Diego in 1939, and moved to La Mesa about 20
years ago.
Friendly and outgoing, Mr. USHER was elected to offices
in organizations in which he was a member. He was a bowler, and he belonged to
several bowling leagues. He also was a gardener throughout his adult life. Mr. USHER
was a skilled cabinetmaker. He also worked in construction and did many
remodeling jobs on his own. He was field superintendent for Ninteman
Construction Company for 20 years, retiring from that company in 1971.
He was a life member of the Carpenters Union.
Mr. USHER had held many local and regional offices in
Knights of Columbus. He was a delegate to the Knights of Columbus convention in
New York City the year he retired. He and his wife attended the convention and
traveled on the East Coast and through most of the United States. Survivors
include his wife of 59 years, Ruth; two sons, John of La Mesa and William of
Brentwood; two sisters, Katheryn Ayers and Virginia USHER,
both of St. Louis; and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions May be sent to International Order of Alhambra's
Endowment Fund for Handicapped Children, 4200 Leeds Ave., Baltimore, Md.
21229-5496.
