On the back of an envelope addressed in Caroline Douglas Usher's handwriting to Dr. C. H. Usher is in pencil in the writing of Dr. C. H. dates of birth and death of all the siblings. Here Evelyn Janes birth is noted as 5 / 2 / 53 which seems to be more in line with the date of christening.

The cause of his death was Cancer of the escophagus.
