I have found the 1889 Rochdale UK marriage record for Bridget Theresa
Usher to Patrick Mulheren indicating she was born in Galway (1856). Whether
town or county, I do not know
Her father was William Usher and mother Bridget.
Bridget Theresa Usher (1856) had one sibling also born in Ireland, Joseph
Michael Usher (1854)
William Usher moved to somewhere in Scotland where 2 more sons were born,
Edward (1859) and John (1860)
By 1881, Bridget Usher was living in Rochdale, Lancs with all 4 children on
8 North Lane. William is not shown with the family on the 1881 census
In the 1884 Rochdale marriage license of son Edward Usher to Catherine
Welsh, Edward indicates his "deceased" father was a "stone cutter"
I have found a death in Salford, Manchester, Lancs for a William Usher in
1874 that might be that of William.
Wife Bridget appears to have died in Dec 1892
In ensuing UK census returns, it appears that Bridget Theresa (Mulheren) had
no children.
Joseph Michael married Catherine O'Hara but drowned in the Todmorden Canal
while returning from work leaving 3 children
Edward moved to Philadelphia in 1906 with 3 daughters. In all, 10 other
children died in Rochdale below the age of 6 between 1884 and 1906
But I can find no record for son John who is listed in the 1881 Rochdale
census
Other names given to the 10 deceased children of Edward Usher and Caterine
Welsh included John, Annie, Michael, Edward, Joseph, Mary Ann, and Minnie
(Minerva), and possibly Blanche Helena & Lancelot Frederick

family, please contact me

My father's family came from Galway City and all his brothers settled here in Dublin. I have been stuck with my ancestor Matthew Ussher, a baker, born. c. 1824 in Galway, for years. All the Galway RC parish registers have been computerised and still no sign of my Matthew's baptism.

I am looking for parentage of Mary Usher who married Michael Kenny c1840's in possibly Kilmalaw, parish of Fohenagh, district of Ballinasloe, East Galway. Christopher Usher and a W. (William?) Usher are listed in the Griffith's Valuation of that period. Her children were Bridget and Catherine (who married Timothy Ward), other children unknown.
