
Lee Prather Beck was born January 25, 1881 in Baldwin, Mississippi in Itawamba County which is located in North East Mississippi. He moved with his family to Sevier County, Arkansas around 1895 and settled in Ben Lomond, Arkansas near his father, Thomas M. Beck and brother William Isaac Beck. Lee Prather married Kate Mary Henson on December 22, 1906 in Ashdown, Arkansas; both at the age of 25 years. Lee Prather was a farmer and had a service station when he was older. Lee and family moved to Texarkana, Texas for a few years and lived at 3510 Hazel before moving back to Ashdown, Arkansas and lived in a house just east of the Ashdown Cemetery where they are laid to rest now. Joyce and mother, Kate later moved to 371 East Fulton in Ashdown.

Lee Prather and Kate moved with their children, Joyce and Olan, in 1912 with Grand Father Thomas and the others of their clan to Mosquero, New Mexico which is located in the North East Corner of New Mexico in Harding County. After the death of Thomas & Mary Ella Beck, they all moved back to Arkansas near Ashdown in Little River County.
