ALLEN ABRAHAM CHARLESWORTH JORGENSEN |
.
.
Decendants of Our Charlesworth Grandparents. This is a full week adventure in the summer, usually
camping out in the mountain. For the ones over it, they are responsible to find the spot
big enough for everyone. Send invites with directions to the spot, and they bought the meat for one main meal. Everyone brings their own beverages, dishes, and a potluck dish to share at the main meal. This main meal is usually the first Saturday. This is the time for All families to gather together. The other days each family can do their own thing.
The ones over it provide the entertainment and games.
Sometimes the retired crowd will stay a whole month on this outing. We have a campfire
each evening. We have music, with accordions, a lab piano, and shakers. Some families
bring horses to ride and RV's. Usually there are fishing spots that are close. Lots of fun games and activities for the kids. We have volley ball, baseball, Frisbee. Crafts for young and old. And most of all lots of visiting and getting reacquainted.
July 31- August 6, 1999 happened to be our turn. We had it at a campground in Fishlake,
Utah. I made up a chart for all the descendants of our Charlesworth Grandparents. I asked
each of the main 5 sisters to give me the names of all their descendants with spouses. All the
names were entered into the program Family Tree Maker, which compiled them into a neat
chart. It took _29___ sheets of paper. I laminated and taped the papers end to end, this
chart reached the whole side of our 27 ft. trailer. It was a site to see. In 1999 there
were 243 Lineal Descendants.
As the altitude is hard for the more mature family members now, a park site that is not so high is selected, and we only have a weekend with one main day, which works out best. With the families growing, and multiplying so fast they are big enough to have their own reunions and this reunion is fizzling out. This reunion started with 5 families now there are over 170 families.
