Research Notes:
Most of the data on the Heminger line has been provided or verified by either Marjorie Waidner and/or Al Heminger. The proper identification of George with relation to his birth and ancestry is questionable. There were multiple Heminger clans in Tuscarawas and Stark counties in the early 1800's, all using the same given names and all from the same German town. The family name is spelled with one or two m's, often in the same line and even by a single household (not unlike the McIlroy "I/E"). A George Heminger was listed in the 1790 Bedford, PA census. One adult male, one young male [John?] and 5 females were in the household.
George married Catharina about 1780. (Catharina was born before 1765.)
