Thankful Hubbard amiable wife of Col. Joseph Hubbard.
She departed this life in the hope of a better April 17, 1796 in the 43rd year of her age.
Although she sleeps in dust awhile
Beneath this barren clod
Ere long we hope she'll rise and smile
To see her Saviour God."

The Hubbard cemetery is located in the "bow" of the CT river on property that belonged to Joseph (cir 1790-1808). The first burials, and only Hubbard's, were Thankful, 1796 and her daughter, Lucy Ann, in 1790. There are only a dozen or so marked stones and seven "rough" stones in the cemetery. It is located behind a rise, south of Bowen Rd. across from the much larger Weathersfield Bow cemetery, where several of Joseph's relatives were buried some years after Joseph sold his property in the area.
Johnathan, son of Moses Rowley & Elizabeth Fuller resided in Kent, Litchfiled, CT. He & some of his family moved to Rutland Co., VT before 1775. Two of the family participated with the 1775 Green Mountain boys in the capture of Ft Tigonderoga. Later, Joseph Hubbard served as Sgt in a relief expedition to the Fort.
