Elizabeth (Abt 1774-1815) |
Elizabeth 1 2
There is no supporting information, but a number of Merriman's are listed in the Beech Spring cemetery where Samuel and Elizabeth are buried. Since her grandson was named James Merriman McIlroy, it is not a far reach to suppose that Elizabeth may have been a Merriman. Elizabeth married Samuel McILROY, son of John McILROY and Unknown, in PA. (Samuel McILROY was born about 1760 in Ireland,1 3 died on 23 Aug 1825 in Wayne twp, Jefferson Co., OH 2 and was buried in Beech Spring Cemetery, Greene twp, Harrison Co., OH 4.)
There is a conflict over where Samuel married Elizabeth and James was born. All of Samuel's children noted here listed there birth place as PA in cenesus data. The oldest son, James, stated his birthplace as PA, so it is reasonable that Samuel married there before 1793, before the move to OH. |
